I liked the sweet chemistry between Redford and Fonda.
I like Romantic Comedies and this one has a happy ending. The New York City backdrop is a plus and I remember those "walk-up" apartment buildings well...adds comic relief to the story. Jane looks ravishingly beautiful and shines brightly in this film. There is great chemistry between Redford and Fonda....they make the "newly-wed" story believable. The what-was-considered then, a high apartment rent is really laughable in todays market...they actually were that cheap, in the 60's.Read full review...
Couldn't Be Sweeter!
This is such a sweet movie made from a great screenplay! Neil Simon is a perfectionist! Jane Fonda shines as Cory--a bride who marries an uptight layer--Robert Redford. He plays the part so well--squeaking as he carries her all the steps--counting them as they go. From having furniture delivered to dinners--their newlywed love is a stitch to watch. She befriends this old man--a neighbor who has to use their loft window to get to his place, and he meets her mother. This love story will have you laughing!Read full review...
