Geriatric Jelly-beanophile

I grew up loving jelly babies. I am now 77. Many shops sell their own brand j-bs which fall far short of the real thing. Only currently shopping at Aldi and Lidl I had been unable to get nice ones. r>But because I am an old buffer I bought these Barratts j-bs mistakenly, instead of what I really wanted which was Bassetts(Maynard) j-bs.
A big bag arrived and me, my wife and son had a few each. To be honest they are acceptable.
Side by side with Bassett's, they have a little harder outer surface, slightly less of a jelly consistency and dissolve in a lumpier fashion, but maybe only nuts like me would notice.
The Barratt flavours are OK, not artificial. The Bassett flavours have the advantage of being what I grew up with and I prefer them; but only slightly. A neutral might choose the opposite way. All in all a happy purchase.Read full review

Jelly melt

I have an ill husband who loves Jelly babies and I have bought them before with great success but this time they were stuck together in lumps and although they are still being eaten I am really disappointed .
They as usual have given pleasure however.

Flavour some jellies

Nostalgia.
