CLASSIC 1980s SCI-FI SERIES - DVD BOX SET

This is a classic 1980s sci-fi series (i watched this as a kid ) brought back many memories .............highly entertaining!

The galactica fleet finally discovers Earth.

Brings to a conclusion the original series of Battlestar Galactica with the discovery of Earth as of 1980.

It shows how they try to continue to deceive the Cylons and bring Earths technology up to their own level ready for the fight ahead.

It also shows Boxey all grown up and doing what his adoptive father, Apollo, was doing by protecting the fleet as a viper pilot.

Which ties in nicely with a timeline that has taken many years to finally follow through from the start of the original series and not where their technology allows them to travel Star Trek style across the galaxies.

It was just a little shorter than could have been, maybe they could have worked it by developing a base of the far side of the Moon with their technology and using lunar materials for building a defensive base their and transfer their people their with the ships sent on auto pilot to elsewhere to deceive the Cylons and use the lunar resources with the galactica to build up a sufficient power base to defeat any Cylon attack.

But it would have been nice to see more episodes showing any other options they may have considered following through as well as landing on Earth and trying to deceive the Cylons by continuing to lead them away, which seemed pointless as well.

If the Galactica could detect Earth transmitions, surely the Cylons could as well. Even if they didn't fully understand them, it would be obvious they were technology based.

ULTIMATE SCI-FI

I LOVE THIS DVD.
I WATCHED THE SERIES AS A CHILD AND ALWAYS WANTED TO WATCH AGAIN.
WAS OVER THE MOON WHEN FOUND 1980 ON EBAY.
I LOVED IT THAT MUCH I WOULD HAVE PAID 3 TIMES WHAT ID PAID FOR IT.

THE ONLY THING IS THE MISSING GAP BETWEEN SERIES ONE AND SERIES TWO.
THE WHOLE THING COULD HAVE BEEN EXPLORED MUCH MORE.

I AM A GREAT FAN OF THE NEW BATTLESTAR EVEN THOUGH IT DRIFTS OFF ALOT FROM THE ORIGIONAL.

ITS A MUST FOR EVERY SCI-FI BUFF AND ANY YOUNG BUDDING FIGHTER THEIR.

THE ONLY THING I FOUND THAT I DISLIKED WAS THE USE OF A SWEAR WORD ON THE FIFT EPISODE.Read full review...

Battlestar Galactica 1980

The item is an old DVD from tv series battlestar galactica, not released in Spain. I saw the 1978 series and liked me and i want to see the final of the series.

I was underwhelmed by this promising series

I had heard that these were to be the last episodes of this show. However, none of the questions that may have plagued devoted viewers of this excellent scifi story were left answered. I feel it dragged out themes that had ran naturally through previous series such as playing on the - who is human / who is cylon?

It has since been revealed that at least another ten episodes have been filmed and will be released onto television shortly that DO tie-up all the loose ends.Read full review...

The original Battlestar Galactica

Wow! this brought me right back to the 80's. A great DVD and still really entertaining. The Sci-Fi is great for the boys and the two main characters are still fanciable even after all these years !!!<br>

I prefer the old series to the terrible remake!!! and when this became available i had to have it, if only they had the money that they are ploughing into the rubbish remake!!

excellent saw it in 1980 wanted to rewind my youth.just as good as it were in 1980 remenbered a bit of it.as a battlestar fan it was a must ave for my collection/?thanks

i loved it it bought back memories of when i watchede it on tv
when i was a lot younger
great series (the original)
and when they bought the new series out
i thought that was brill too
