I am the purchaser for items needed by a non-profit animal rescue group in the central valley of California. We are in a drought so the grass is dry and the pests are looking for places to go. i'm sorry , my dog comes first. I've been in touch with Bayer Pet Products and it's not normal for all of the control numbers to be different! I'm sorry It is a thrown together box of old medicine! It's not a normal package.

Switched from Frontline Plus to Bayer K9 Advantix II as it seemed the Frontline was losing some effectiveness. Decided to try the K9 Advantix. Took a little time to read the application instructions. K9 Advantix II is a new product. Not only does it prevent fleas AND ticks (when applied topically down the spine or top line of the dog) in 3 or 4 spots, but it also helps repel mosquitoes. & horse flies. Now, as with the regular Advantage, you should expect to see "greasy" application spots for about 3-4 days, especially on short coated dogs, but these dissipate. The product is also waterproof, but immediate washing (right before or after application) is discouraged for best outcome.

If you have a severe flea infestation, do consult with a vet, as to whether to use a different product to start with, as this is more of a preventative once your infestation is under control, although it can kill fleas in all life stages. I have had no fleas on my dogs, since i use one version of Advantage or the other, 'year round, and I go to dog parks & dog training classes weekly, where we are exposed to a LOT of other dogs. I have had excellent results with Advantix, concerning tick-killing abilities with it, as we have a partially wooded fenced lot. the ticks my attach to the dog but die, almost immediately & can be easily removed. Again, best to start using a tick product at LEAST one month BEFORE you expect to start seeing ticks in your area, for the best results. I start in April where I live.Read full review
