Big Brain - The key to being smart.

I recently bought this game due to the addictive nature of the previous installment on the DS. This game is everything I thought it would be as far as testing goes. You initial sign up your me for the "School" and then you have the option to either take the test to get your Brain age or practice a little.

The multiplayer is where this game really shines. You have the option to have up to 4 on 4 with 2 wiimotes. in Sprint mode. The most I've played is 2 on 2 and it was a blast attempting to beat our friends. The newer games that they added to the Wii addition do not feel forced and the other modes such as Brain Quiz, and Marathon are also fun to play with multiple people.

Marathon you take turns solving puzzles seeing how far you can get without messing up, in Quiz mode its like a Jeopardy esque minigame game show. You take turns scoring the most you can on a certain test then the player at the end with the most points wins the game.

You can also compare your Brain Ages with all the other mii's. All an All its a fun game and definitly makes you feel smarter.

Better on the Wii

I had played the Big Brain Academy on Nintendo DS prior to buying the Wii version. I enjoyed the game on the DS, but the only competitive aspect was comparing your brain score to someone elses. On the wii, there is a multi player part that is very fun. You go up against another person and you can pick the type of exercises or choose random to get a little of it all. You both are competing to see who finishes their excercises first. It is a split screen, so there is no waiting on one person to play and then the next (like the DS). You can also pick specific exercises that you may not have excelled at and just practices those over and over. This can come in handy, since a couple of the exercises can be tricky. This is not for younger children, it is fun for those who like the "brain type" games. In comparison to the game Smarty Pants, I think this is much better. It is also more practical, in that everyone can do these types of exercises it is just about how fast you can do them. In Smarty Pants, not everyone is up on famous poets, artists, or even sports trivia. I would recommend buying Big Brain Academy, it's fun and if the claims are true, you may even become smarter!Read full review...

Fun Game

It is a fun game, and with good educational skills. Memory, analysis, calculation, computing among others--still in a very simple form. The kids do not feel as if they are "getting educated", but really just playing.

It can engage the entire family-not only the kids- but the adults too
(up to eight can play)--As a parent I think this is very important- I do not think games should isolate children, but rather share experience with others.

One thing I didn't like was that even after a few rounds of playing--it seems a bit repetitive- the skills and exercises didn't change much.

I bought this game with the idea that it could help some my children develop a few general skills good for everyday school work. I think it will

Big Brain Educational Game

A little slow walk through, a little insultingly difficult for even an adult but Wack A Mole is so great and funny I almost did not give it to the kids.. I did not play much it seems to have a large variety of games and surely the kids will do better as the learning educational matching etc. games are timed and I just have to sit there analyze a bit. More for nimble children probably than an old adult.Read full review...

Fun for the family!

The Big Brain Academy is a great family game for adults or children. There are many levels that test the individuals "brain weight". It is a lot of fun to play in the more competitive two player head-to-head action. You can test your abilites or play in practice mode to hoan your skills. The one downside is that it doesn't use the Wii's intuitive remote more; you can tell that the game wasn't originally intended for the Wii, but the game is recommended nevertheless!Read full review...

A game for puzzle lovers

a great game! The graphics are simpler than some games--very similar to Wii Sports but they make the games clear and easy to follow. Players can enroll Miis they have created. Each game is short and fast-paced, keeping players from boredom. Within each category, there are three different games--each with its own merits.

I find the main character (he serves as the head of the academy) a little annoying, but I do enjoy that the controller says encouraging things during the games.

The game tracks each player's improvement and gives the players a good idea of which categories to work on. The games are simple but not necessarily easy. Thankfully, each game is broken down into three levels--players can begin on the level of their choosing.

I don't know from experience how well this program would work for children but the simple rules and design seem to lend themselves to children as well as adults.

For those who love puzzles and mind games, I highly recommend this game.

Big Brain Academy Wii Degree

This game is a lot of fun even for a single player. It will help to keep my mind sharpe and reflexes "hot." I've enjoyed playing and trying to beat my own score. As we age we all lose a little mental power, this is a fun and easy way to give your brain just a bit of a workout. I've enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.Read full review...

Great Game, Great title

We bought this game originally to use it as a game for a party.
It ended up being a brain-game for me personally, challenging me to memorize birds moving in cages, Wii people's faces, and trying to get to the point where I could get an "A" on my testing skills.

I probably could have used this game when I was in college, but now it's just fun to work my brain before going to bed. It's almost like being a smart vegetable....

The only thing I don't like about it is the professor. The professor talks way too much, and when you've seen him once, you don't need to read what he has to say to you 100-times.

Challenging game for the Wii

I wanted to get my daughter something that would be challenging yet educational so she could play it on the Wii system this summer, and I got it in this game. She's 10 and although every task seems easy, its the timing that increases the difficulty of the activity as you need to act quickly to solve it correctly. It has puzzles and games, with a variety of training levels and categories. It has identification-themed questions, memory-themed, reason-themed, math-themed, as well as visually-themed ones. It's even challenging for me when I tried!
It is a must for kids, especially if they have trouble focusing during school assignments. This will definitely increase their brain development.
