A colmedy legend at his peak!

For the benfit of the uninitiated, this is stand-up legend Bill Hicks at his best! Sadly, this was filmed on his last UK tour before his untimely death that, ironically, sealed his place in the history of comedy as one of the greats! His brilliantly observed but extremely caustic humour is turned on religion, politicians, television and the music industry as well as smoking, drugs and advertising! Nothing escapes him! He paved the way for so many comics such as Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle et al. It's accompanied by a fascinating insight into the life of Hicks and how his upbringing in the midwest 'bible belt' provided the inspiration for so much of his best work!
I first saw the 'Revelations' show 15 years ago and it's as enjoyable now as it was all those years ago - enjoy this comedy classic!!Read full review...

He's the man

Never mind that other shouty guy, Lenny Bruce, this is where standup comedy started. The documentary isn't that great, but it gives a modicum of insight to what made this man the legend he is. Oh yeah, he does stand up by the way. One of the few comedians, even to this day, to speak up against such awful governments, and he is really funny about it too. A shame he's not around anymore, he is missed. Especially with the recent "Persian Gulf distraction".Read full review...
