great game
for the longest time i’ve been looking for an open world choose your own adventure type game, and this is the best one by far.

All fluff, no substance
This is a game I waited years to play since the trailer originally came out; sadly it did not live up to expectations after so many delays. The world itself is rather beautiful and can be charming, but there seem to be only several different music tracks to accompany it so that gets tedious immediately. As does the 'narrator', who constantly pipes in to remind you how dreary the situation in the world is along with being the only voice you ever hear in the game. He voices every character, and you get sick of hearing him very early on.. as in the first few hours. I kind of wanted to explore more of the world, but the narrator's presence and lack of variety in real activities has me wanting to just cut to the chase and finish as soon as possible (about 24 hours).
Beyond all the above mentioned, bugs and screen tearing are severely persistent, and this is after several large updates. Even if the game ran flawlessly, there just isn't that much to see. The main objectives are extremely easy, making searching for better gear out in the world nearly pointless, and it's just too similar to every other open-world ARPG of the last five years to be worth recommending. The 'story' is complete nonsensical drivel... really the only appealing aspect to the game is the visual style of some of the monsters you find deeper in the world.
