Bison fishing Barrow
Arrived today and I've got to say I'm pleasantly surprised. It comes pretty much ready made, you just put on the wheel and handle which takes seconds. It folds down to nearly nothing and will easily fit in my car. It's well made and looks good too. It's not a massive barrow but it looks more than big enough to take all of my overnight fishing gear. Should I need more space I will just un bolt the side bars which will make it take more gear. This should make transporting my fishing gear from car to peg much easier. Strong but !
As you would expect with a name like Bison it is a very strong piece of equipment but that is it's only saving grace.
Needing to carry my tackle across a field to get to the lake rather than make several trips I decided to buy this.
So I was pleased to receive it last week and set off to the lake.
Now I didn't have a clue on how to load it so I placed a rod and umbrella inside some of the side straps and knew that that couldn't be right as I couldn't tilt the barrow without the equipment decking.
Anyway I made my way across s muddy field and then discovered that the single wheel was collecting the musing and because there was not enough clearance between the frame work was jamming up. Great so I had to find a bit of stick to clear the wheel to reach the lake and back.
I have subsequently contacted the company who responded immediately about my problems and told me that the 12 straps fitted were there just to tension the bag, unbelievable and you just lay the equipment rods etc on the top. How your suppose to stop the tackle sliding off I don't know. Imo this barrow is only of use to those fishing off of a pier and definitely not made to go across muddy fields.
If you do want a barrow to do that the company does offer alternatives. To be fair to the company they did say they would look into the wheel clearance issue as they had not heard of this before but if you are fishing where you do need to walk across a field avoid buying this item.Read full review...

BISON H/DUTY ONE WHEEL BARROW WITH BAG FISHING TROLLEY
This is a marvellous piece of equipment. Well made and easy to control.
My only observation is, as it is supplied, it can be quite difficult tightening up the bolts that hold the handles and wheel on the frame. So I have modified it.
The front two holes in the wheel plate, and the front holes of the handles, I have cut out to enable me to leave those bolts in situ, sliding the handles/wheel plate onto them and then adding the last bolts. This product is robust easy to assemble and very strong. The bag is large enough for most extra bits. I can get my stove, gas bottle, bite alarms, lanterns and other bits.

Barrow
Beware, this barrow isn't light & I'm sure it must've been built on the Clyde!
It comes on 2 separate boxes & builds in less than 5 mins.
If I'm to be picky, the barrow bag is a touch too deep & touches the ground even with the straps pulled as tight as possible.
The wheel is made from polyeurothane I think, so no punctures, might be a wee bit noisy on gravel paths tho'.

happy with my barrow.
It does the job I got 50% off so it was a good value. took a good load need to balance any barrow. Feels a bit flimsy, the handles could do with a quicker way of connection and release.

Every beekeeper needs a Bison Bee Barrow!
For a beekeeper:
Pro:
- Can be easily packed up and put into car to visit out-apiaries
- Provides a stable flat surface (with a simple mod, see below)
- Front and side bars support load and provide anchor points for bungees etc
- One wheel easy to manoeuvre cross country
- It will take two empty BN hives though probably only one occupied hive would be heavy enough.
Con:
- Haven't found a use for the supplied bag
- As supplied it is a chassis, as a proof of concept I have used an estate agent board to provide a flatbed. It is necessary to make cut outs to allow the front and side bars to fold. The flat surface can go all the way back to the angle of the handlebar.Read full review...

Easy barrow
