The Priv is a great android phone, and KEYBOARD!!

Do not shun this because its "blackberry" - the Priv is a great android phone that also offers some beefed up security for the android OS - but mostly people are going to either WANT or NOT want a keyboard... if you glued the keyboard shut this would work just like every other silly slab android phone.

The screen is nice and big - slightly curved edges - although not as much as the galaxy edge variants.

The keyboard is really the great thing about this phone - a real keyboard is ALWAYS better than virtual - and this does MORE than just type, it is a giant trackpad so you can scroll, flick and do text selection better, faster and easier then poking and prodding your screen.

The battery gets better every update, I can make it through a work day- with this phone as my primary driver and still return home with enough battery to watch vids, facebook and play Mario run and it not die by bed time.

Really disappointed

Love BB but have been really disappointed with this Priv. Battery is terrible, takes forever to charge with OEM charging cable, then discharges rapidly even when not in use. Heats up uncomfortably when charging and in use. Had huge issues when traveled back east and the phone would not update nor would it send text messages or recieve
texts in a timely fashion. Added to the fact I kept getting deleted text messages sent back to me as new messages. Verizon said there were no network problems and that it was attributable to the phone. Lastly, when powering it up after leaving the plane I received a piercingly high tone evey time I tried to call out. Restarting and shutting down did nothing to fix this for 3 days.

Android and blackberry together is a win.

I like this phone. It has the size of the other smart phones, is thin as paper. It also has blackberry software, as well as android. And it has a physical keyboard. It really has everything that I need, and it works fine, and the battery life is okay, but they're all the same when all is said and done.Read full review...

Keyboard does not have directional keys

I should have examined the keyboard more closely. My last phone with a physical keyboard had directional keys that allowed backspacing without deleting. A physical keyboard with this feature was a major reason for my getting one. No one to blame but myself, I suppose.
Otherwise it's a fine phone with a great screen.

Looks and Works like brand new,.

Looks and Works like brand new,. I had bought a new one of these from Verizon, without the replacement option, with a contract. Then dropped it in water while shaving. I was using an old flip phone for almost three months. This phone arrived today so I charged it up and took it in to the Verizon store where they activated it. So far, everything works. And there are no nicks or scratches.Read full review...

Blackberry Priv

I Iove my Blackberry priv phone with Verizon. Although this phone is no longer available through Verizon it is great. I've always had a blackberry until they became extinct. I then switched to a galaxy. I switched to Verizon just to get a BlackBerry again. Excellent features such as the android system for BlackBerry that allows android apps to be downloaded plus Blackberry security. The camera takes excellent pictures which I use for business purposes as well. Lightweight phone with a sliding keyboard. My only negative is that there are not a lot of very good protective cases for BlackBerry. I am a Otterbox fan so, I think it's time for them to create one.Read full review...

Blackberry Priv

It has dual keyboards, and a very nice camera a definite step up from my Z 10, I personally would still love to have access to the Blackberry 10 operating system, but more people prefer the Android OS.Read full review...

Just what I want

Is it laggy - Yes
Is the battery the best - No

Can I write a real e-mail on it - YES!

Having a real keyboard that slides out means I can now see my entire message at once (no more lost screen space due to the virtual keyboard).

Also the fact the physical keyboard allows for swiping gestures for auto complete and other functions is a huge plus so you don't lose all of the features you've gotten used to with a virtual keyboard.

Nice product and worth money

Although after tested, it is not the best performance Android phone on market, It still has the best futures. I am using it as business phone and it works pretty steady than other small brands, the only issue is phone is working under hot feelings after opened serveral apps. It is pretty warm in summer time so if you don't mind it is not a probelm. Overall it is the good phone worth the money investment.Read full review...

It's a bargain and better than the reviews.

My previous phone was an IPhone 5C, and had no good radio/speaker quality, the touchscreen didn't work most days, and each IPhone update seemed to make it a less than stellar choice for a phone.
r>This one I took a bit of a risk on. It's older, a Blackberry, and has a curved screen. But I love this phone. Yes, it has android, which I already knew. It's fast, and very easily supports my professional and personal accounts. The Gorilla Glass makes this a hardier phone, not invincible but mighty strong. I've added my micro SD card, and I have all my Google files in one place. Also, the IPhone nano sim card fit perfectly in this. Happenstance? I think not.

This phone received less than stellar reviews when it was first intro'd, but I think that's because we, as consumers, are used to all kinds of extras and feel a bit entitled to the latest and greatest tech. I'm thinking about buying one for my ADHD nephew, who is really hard on gadgets.Read full review...
