BOLD IS AS BOLD DOES

A very nice attractive cell phone loaded with features and APPS capabilities. The track-pad is an excellent modification that I particularly like. Nice tactile feel QWERTY keypad. Attractive housing that is tough and reliable. The 5 mp camera is also very nice. It takes very sharp pictures that surprised me with their clarity and detail. I have had this phone for several months now and so far, with the aid of the keyboard lock feature, I have experienced no pocket dialing to unknown persons or places. I use the keyboard lock feature constantly. It is no trouble to unlock if I need to and I can answer incoming calls without unlocking the phone first. Be advised that once you do answer and end the incoming call you must lock the keyboard again using the "keyboard lock" icon on the main menu screen to continue using this feature. Another feature I really like is in the "SOUNDS" icon folder and that is the "All Alerts Off" feature. I use this feature when attending church or important meetings where I do not want to be interrupted. Just remember to set it back to whatever your preferences were before turning alerts off when you exit these meetings.

If there is anything I could say bad about this phone it has got to be the top and bottom bars on the display. I prefer the screen to be fully customizable giving me the option of displaying those bars or not. But this is trivial and hardly worth mentioning but I feel, in all fairness, this should be mentioned in this preview.

All in all this is a good and reliable cell phone that should give many months and years of service. I have absolutely no regrets at purchasing this phone. I would buy another at the drop of a hat if the need arose.

Love the phone!

This phone was my ATT upgrade for a secondary line. I am very satisfied with the quality of the phone and the additional items included with the phone, making this one of the most stacked phones i have purchased. It has a great navigation system and might seem a litte daunting to people not familiar smartphones. The camera is good and takes very sharp pictures. I highly recommend this phone to someone looking for good value and an array of features.Read full review...

Awsome Phone!

The Blackberry Bold 9700 is a great phone. It may not compete with iphone,(apps, web browser and etc..) but What do you look for in a phone? First I like the phone to actually be a phone. Clean crisp communication unlike the performance from Mac. iphone has horrible service and very unclear conversations. Another thing the battery life is something from out of this world. I surfed the internet for 2 days excessively and it was still at about 25%. I know I would never get the same battery life from my girlfriends iphones. So to summarize the Bold its a great phone it does everything I need it to do. Nice texting program, email works amazing as usual and need be I can surf the web. Also it cost about 250ish less then other smart phones. It may not be able to be turned into a credit card machine like the iphone, but I think I can live.Read full review...

Blackberry Bold 2 9700 (AT&T) Model

Great phone, definitely the best Blackberry smartphone as of May 2010.
Nice, good sized screen. Typing on its qwerty keyboard is comfortable.
The trackpad is a 10000x better than the mouse ball, that older blackberry phones came with. Camera quality is really good, 3G is much faster than EDGE.
Extremely happy with it.

This is a tip for future buyers of this phone. The ATT Blackberry Bold 2 9700 and the T-Mobile Blackberry Bold 2 9700 uses different frequency bands. This means that the ATT version can not connect on the T-Mobile 3G band even if the phone is unlocked. The same as if you're a T-Mobile subscriber and you just bought a ATT version of the Blackberry Bold 2 9700. Edge will run fine, but once again it cannot connect on the 3G. Because of the different band.

I love this BB

I just love it: nice camera resolution, the 3G internet is amazing. I had a gemini curve 8520 and decide to upgrade to the Bold 2, cause the camera resolution (i love to take pictures and loaded ASAP to fb)and cause the 3G capable so i can use the BB as a modem with a fast mobile internet.

The Destokp software is still limited and isn´t friendly: Yesterday, I had upgrading to last version, and i haven´t found how to connect to internet using the Onyx as a modem; and also i will like a Desxtop manager software, like others brands PDA phones, like motorola, they have they own software so you can update your contacts, add contacts, appointments, etc, at the computer, and sycronize then to the phone, no matter if you don´t have MS-Outlook.

I'm now a BlackBerry fanatic!

Previously I had a HTC Touch Pro. I'd never had a BB before until this purchase and I ABSOLUTELY love everything about this phone. It's so easy to use and the apps are customizable and movable within the home screen and the apps are multi-taskable which I think is great. I've had it for a little over two weeks and there hasn't been one time where I've said to myself Oh I wish it did this or that. If you're considering the change to a BB...DO IT!!! You won't regret it.Read full review...

Best Blackberry Phone of ALL TIME ! ! !

This is my fourth or fifth Blackberry. I have had 2-3 Blackberry Pearls and I loved them, they were great phones. Then I had a Blackberry Curve and it was just okay.
This Blackberry Bold 9700 is an AWESOME phone! It has Wi-Fi, 3G, and all the other great features of the well known Blackberry line up.
This is by far the best phone I have had for many reasons, to name a few, Great Signal, Fantastic Key Board, (even for my thick fingers), as well as being a comfortable size and weight to handle. It has more features that I will ever use, but for what I need at work and home, this is ASWSOME!!!

BOLD 2 from where I sit

I am a Blackberry fanatic. I am writing this review based on aesthetic, I know nothing about the technical stuff such as operating system blah blah. I am now waiting on the price of the Blackberry Torch to fall before getting that one. what I love about the Bold 2 are:-

1/ there is no trackball, but you have a track pad that is so cool, you slide your hands to view one picture after another.
2/ it also has WIFI so even without the blackberry service you can surf the internet.
3/ I love the built-in GPS, I downloaded GOOGLE latitude and I am in awe. It tell me my location and can give me driving directions to other locations. You will understand this point, if you bear in mind that I am in JAMAICA.
4/ it is 3G capable
5/ it is light and sleek, if you had a HTC tyTN you know what I am talking

most of what I missed are things that are unique to the Blackberry Storm.
1. the ability to view facebook and other sites horizontally.
2. the touchscreen
3. the display area is smaller

LOVE IT!!

Small Improvements, Big Difference

I previously had the Bold 1 9000 and was disappointed in a few things compared to comparable phones on the market. I have had the Bold 2 for about a month now and I can say they did a pretty solid job of fixing every one of them and more.

First off the battery life is far superior to its predecessor not to mention other phones on the market, also the overall size reduction, although the keyboard took a couple days to get used to, is a big advantage and seems to balance function and fashion. Lastly the track pad is great and after a little adaption i would not recommend anything else.
