Amazing rugged phone at such great value!

I choose this phone over other similar rugged phones as it has a headphone jack (no C-type adaptor needed) and 5500 mA battery which is not as heavy as the 8000mA types, yet allows for 12+ hours screen time or 2+ days of use.

The phone supports fast charging at 1.2amp (2x normal) with supplied charger, but I use a regular USB charger for 600mA (1x) charge overnight which keeps the battery cooler for better overall life. CPU is fast and good size ram, can run many apps without slowing down, good quality audio and screen.

It has a high quality 13MP rear camera module, that also works well in low light and I was disappointed that the Camera app wouldn't offer lower resolutions for smaller (data size) photos and video. There is a free Camera app (with no ads) in the Play Store called 'Open Camera' and this also contains an option to work correctly with the flash on this phone (Camera settings > Use Alternative flash method), so now I have all the Photo and Video options I could wish for at no extra cost.

Overall I'm very pleased with this phone and it's amazing just how low it's priced for the features and quality you get. Awesome !

Updated 31/03/22: I've been asked a question about the sound quality of the phone and so am adding those details below, I've also updated the section about the Camera app above. It's now almost a year since I purchased the phone and it's still going strong with good battery life (as Li-ion batteries can lose 20-30% capacity each year) so using a slower charge as I mentioned above is really helping to maintain battery life.

The question was about the call quality and volume. The call audio quality is very good, most of the time it seems as good as a decent land-line phone. On most calls the volume tends to be set to about 60% and so it can go much louder if required. You can also use normal headphones in a noisy environment with the mic of the phone if you don't have a headset. For people hard of hearing (which the question also mentioned) then there are apps on the Playstore to make the volume even louder if required (search 'increase volume on your phone' there), just be careful not to push it too loud and damage the speaker, your headphones or hearing.

A year on and I'm still amazed at the quality for such a low price. I do prefer this type of phone with it's rugged case that doesn't slip out of your hand yet still streamline enough for a jacket pocket, a great all-rounder. The phone can handle rugged use but I do also look after it as much as I can as these types of sealed phones are not always cost effective to repair, that does also apply to those costing three times as much and not offering much more.
