A movie made well before it's time and one of Harrison Ford's best roles. Blade Runner is a movie that bombed at the Box Office but ended up becoming one of the most famous movies with a cult following.

Not worth a 4k release
Not really worth the extra for 4k over blu ray. Read some reviews which said it looked fantastic in 4K. It is a very dark movie,most of the scenes nighttime and raining. Lots of grain,better than the dvd. Disappointed.Read full review...

After purchasing this on multiple formats and multiple cuts over the years, this seems like a new movie all over again. The level of fresh detail is staggering, both in the sets themselves and in the actors faces. The HDR is also notable and the wide gamut of colours makes all the neon pop like never before. One of the greatest sci-fi films ever made now looks better than it ever has done. Even 1080p Blu-ray just pales in comparison, a ‘must-have’ 4K disc.Read full review...

An example of how to apply 4k to older titles
4K UHD can be applied with great effect to older movies originally shot on film, the resolution, colour and detail are there if properly scanned and the HDR treatment is done properly. Bladerunner is a great example of what you can do, if you take the care to do it properly. Sure there is some grain inherent in the source material and yes some scenes are dark and murky and blurry with rain and mist but that's how they're supposed to be, however the colours are bright and vivid, the detail is much improved, the opening scenes are stunning. This is a great example of a 4K/UHD treatment of an older movie, shame about the price.Read full review...
