The saddles did blaze...blue!

After the passing of Mel Brooks, I wanted to revisit some of the Mel Brooks movies. I watched Blazing Saddles years ago but didn't remember much about it. It was fun to see many of the "old stars" I had grown up watching. I had not remembered, however, how suggestive many of the Mel Brooks movies were and Blazing Saddles was no exception. The saddles were blazing with sexual innuendos and all kinds of other inferences (some not so implied but expressed outright). I did not find it to be as humorous as I had remembered. The movie has not changed, but evidently, I have. After watching it once, we got rid of it. The saddles will not be blazing on our tv again. I think it sad that Mel Brooks had the genius to produce funny yet clean movies...but evidently that wasn't what would sell. Read full review
