Not as good as the book.

For anyone who has read any of Michael Connelly's books, it is clear that no film will ever do them justice. This one is no exception. It's one thing to compress the story's events to fit the allotted time, but it's another thing altogether to flat-out change the story line and characters roles. This rendition does both.
