first conservation film

This is the story of Joy and George Adamson who find an orphaned lion cub in the African Savanah of Kenya, although this classic film celebrates fifty years since Virgina Mackenna and Bill Travers (who play George and Joy) it allows us to engage in a piece of classic story telling. The actors are engaging and it makes the film very enjoyable to watch. After this film was made Mackenna and Travers set up the Born free foundation taken from the film's title. This film is a catalysist for saving endangered animals around the world. I first saw this film many years ago in the cinema and never forgot it. I decided to purchase it as it is a memorable film. It reminds me of how Africa and its wild life fifty years on struggles to survive as they ever threat from poaching and the film brings it to light and it remains to be evident today as
much as it was when the Adamson's carried out their pioneering work to save the cub which they named Eilsa. It remains a timeless classic which can be seen many times over to remind us of the endangered animals which we see on television today through nature programmes.

A good family film

I used to watch Born Free and Living Free when I was a child. When I had an opportunity to see it again I jumped at the chance. Still a lovely engaging film.
