Needed to be modified before I could use it.
Had no problem fitting this into the mower, but when I came to run the machine it only ran for a short time before it stopped because of the motor over heating. I found the problem to be the spring tension on this unit was too high and this was putting too much pressure on the drive belt and causing the motor to run slow and eventually over heat. I must point out here that my mower has a toothed belt drive and this may be the problem as the belt needs less pressure to be applied to keep it in place.
My solution was to reduce the length of the spring slightly and reform the fixed end so that the arm of the spring came nearer to the body of the unit thus when in operation the applied tension was reduced.
This mower now works fine but I hate to think what problems other users could be having who are not able to modify the spring as I have.Read full review
