Good value and impressive unit.
The Irrigatia SOL-24 Automatic Watering System has proven to be a very robust and good way of keeping my Greenhouse watered and adjusts to suit the amount of sunlight it monitors.
It is quite noisy when there is no other ambient background wind noise but only runs for a maximum of 15 minutes.
It needs to be quite close to the water butt and have a good level of water to pull from.

Not cleverly made
It's very noisy. only for very specific application where people are not around.
I returned it. it was easy to assembly quality was ok. The control function was made in a way that i started draining the batteries that ment that it runs in the beginning 30 min witch result in water spilling over the pots.Read full review...

Easy to set up and works without fuss
Works exceedingly well. I have a huge water butt which I have been using with watering cans, but this product allows me to water seedlings and hanging baskets regularly from the butt without intervention. I've put the device on a shed roof, so its first task is to draw the water up a thin pipe to gutter level, which I use to carry the pipes to the hanging baskets and down to trays of seedlings. The drippers seem to deliver the right amount of water, and I like the way it waters less when the sun doesn't shine, and works harder on warmer days. Read full review...

Sol 24
Got 3 of these now, in a greenhouse growing tomatoes cucumbers strawberries French beans climbing courgettes chillies and various salad/lettuce/leaves, and herbs and probably some other stuff. Grew melons and peppers last year.
Yes it's a considerable outlay, for the sol 24s, 1400 litre water tank, various butts etc.
But once it's all set up, you can sit back, go away for a long weekend, whatever you need to do, and all your plants are growing strong and healthy.
You'll have to decide if the outlay is worth it, based on your own circumstances, but its working for me. Sol 24s are a great invention.

The previous version had a rotating switch. This version has a digital button and display.
I had to move the pump location because in the original position, you could not see the display.
