Small Speaker/Big Sound
Long-discontinued, the Boston CR-6 speaker more than holds it own when compared to similar speakers being produced today. It is solid and well-built, with nice features like 5-way binding posts and a mounting bracket for wall installations. The fit and finish, while utilitarian, is a notch above what you would expect.
The CR-6 is a very neutral speaker - there is no emphasis on any portion of the sound spectrum. The bass is surprising for a speaker this small, the mids are very natural and well-balanced and the treble has just the right bite to it. This is a speaker that will not hit you with the dreaded condition called listening fatigue.
Good-looking, versatile, and great sounding.....the CR-6 has a lot going for it.Read full review

Great sound from small speakers
These speakers were designed and manufactured 20+ years ago. Today they have held up well and still sound great. BA had a reputation at that time for building neutral sounding efficient speakers at a good price. All these years later these speakers still sound great and they are an even better value. If you have been listening to your music on ear buds and Bluetooth speakers you really owe it to yourself to get a set of these (any of the CR5/6/8 models) and an inexpensive amplifier (like a tiny Pyle 2x40 unit). The difference is really amazing. You'll hear things in your recordings you never heard before. Best of all these can be tucked onto bookshelves or easily hung from a wall and take up virtually no space.Read full review

Great Sound!
I fancy myself a discriminating listener as a sound professional and these are impressive considering size and price. Do quite well across the frequency range that this size package can reasonably deliver. This will handle good power and deliver crisp and open sound. Nothing to not like.Read full review

SMALL BUT TERRIBLE
Small but terrible! Matches perfectly with my Velodyne sub! Midrange & high are awesome! It’s like listening to a high end speakers! Don’t get me wrong the CR stands for “Compact Reference” speaker which translates to meticuously build quality! Love listening to these small beasts! They don’t make these anymore but still is highly recommended.Read full review

Insanely Good
I sold Boston speakers when the CR7 was first released but forgot how incredibly good they were until now. They are detailed, with a slight warmth in the midrange, and can play at surprisingly high volume for such a small footprint speaker. Even today, I can't think of a better sounding speaker in this size and certainly not in the price range for which these sold (even factoring in the valuation of the dollar change). You can't go wrong with these. Read full review
