Ideal for fast one cup beverage

The Breville One cup resembles a coffee pod machine and has the same footprint due to the water spout and drip tray. It is a sleek unit with a decent amount of brightwork and a pleasant blue hue to the clear water container and top switch when boiling. As the name suggests, it dispenses one cup (8 fl oz) of boiling water in 36 seconds and automatically shuts off. This is fast and obviously saves energy but bear in mind that the process has to be repeated for each cup of water that is required. The amount of water dispersed is also not variable so a favourite small cup may need to be replaced. Fortunately, any spillage goes into the drip tray which can take a cup-full before it needs emptying. The boiling process sounds the same as a normal kettle until the last few seconds when the volume increases considerably and the spout spits and splutters a little. Filling the Breville is similar to a conventional kettle - lift the main body off the electrical base, push the button above the handle to open the lid and fill with water to the Max mark. The opening for filling could be bigger and requires any combi-tap to be set to 'stream' to avoid getting soaked. Usefully, however, the Breville will dispense 5 cups of water before it needs re-filling. This is an ideal product for those who want one beverage quickly. Those who make a number of drinks at the same time may not see the advantage of this dispenser.Read full review...

It's ok but...

It's a great machine but... I wish I knew you could get one where you could adjust the volume. I like a nice big cup or to fill a flask. I have to boil twice and top up. Other than that it's great. If you had nobility issues in the hand filling it is not any lighter than a kettle as it all comes off. I have a bottle of water that I top up from so have solved that issue for now. Next time i will spend a bit more so i can adjust the volume of water.Read full review...

Quick and easy for us oldies.

We've had dispenser kettles for quite a while now, when our last one became slow we decide to invest in another, the only ones that looked suitable were these Breville ones, not wanting to have to wait for each other's cup being brewed we bought 2, we also have 2 microwaves to facilitate simultaneous cooking.Read full review...

Breville Dispenser Kettle

Really impressed with this, very well made and is lovely to have hot water in an instant. My only beef is that I wish you could control the amount of water flow as my cups are too small for the dispensed amount. Easily solved though obviously! Got this for a great price at £26 odd and is well worth the money and will hopefully save money on electricity. Hubby didn't want it but now uses it all the time.... Well worth the investment, go for it.Read full review...

Great product

I'm disabled and had been using a kettle tipper but then my mum was given one of these and I was sold. It's very easy to use, it boils a lot quicker than any kettle I've had and the added bonus is it fills the mug or whatever vessel you use for you. No more lifting or tipping kettle therefore risking boiling water being spilt everywhereRead full review...

Good value - would recommend

Great if you don’t want to spend lots more on a similar type of kettle. A few minor niggles are refilling is a bit fiddly as you need to lift up the kettle, turn it around and pour the water through a smallish hole at the top of the kettle. It’s easy to spill the water but this really is minor. It can be a bit noisy when boiling. First world problems!Read full review...

convenient and money saving

It looks fairly attractive and modern. Boils a cup of water in about 40 seconds (that's proper boiling so you can make a good cup of tea with it). Easy and convenient to use. Must use less energy because it only heats the water you actually use (I've not actually tested this as yet).Read full review...

Quick hot water

I have to admit that this wasn't what I really wanted. What I was after, was the type of heater that is boiling all the time and dispenses as much as required. This one takes a few seconds to boil, but only dispenses one average cup at a time. If you have guests, you have to heat up for each dispense. That being said, what it does, it does well. I find filling a jug and pouring it in to the heater, the easiest way to fill it. After that it is easy operate. It's very easy to clean.Read full review...

Fabulous machine - My third one of these!

Fabulous machine and bought here at an excellent price. This is my third one and I've bought others for friends and family.
I bought one when they were first launched and have absolutely loved it. Unfortunately we live in one of the hardest water areas in the country so no kettle lasts for very long and we were so pleased with it that I have now replaced that first one.
I bought one for my daughter and have just bought two for friends as birthday gifts. I'd really recommend them to anyone.
The machine is really quiet in use so I don't disturb anyone when I get up in the middle of the night and make a cuppa, and it's just so quick and easy.
Beats any kettle hands down!!

Does exactly what it says on the tin (box)

Instructions are very easy to understand and it is very much like a kettle but loads better.

I fill to the max in the morning and it lasts me all day boiling just one cup at a time - 5 x 250 ml cups. Simple and straightforward I am very glad I took the plunge and made this purchase.

Will be interested to see what, if any, impact it has on my electricity consumption but feel sure that it will go down with quite a big drop in usage.

I found it a little noisy when I first started to use it but now it just seems normal so I am certain that it was just because it was different.

Even when I fill to the max, I find it very surprisingly light and extremely easy to handle. Made in such a way that if the owner struggles to lift it when full of water, it can be left "in situ" and filled from a jug a little at a time.

If I am totally honest, I wish that I had gone for a bit bigger capacity but it is a superb little item and perfect for me (as I live alone) and my needs and would recommend.
