SEASON IT BEFORE USE WITH WATER.
This was my first pestle and mortar and I was disappointed at first with the amount of grantie dust it produced with nothing in it. I AM NOT EATING THAT..
But ofcourse you have to season it before use.
The best season method i found was only water and the pestle and mortar itself, grinding for an hour.
I then used raw rice. It came up lovely, no more granite dust.
SEASON IT FIRST IS MY ADVICE TO NEW BEEESS..
A great kitchen product after that.
