Bristan taps are quality

Having previously run a bathroom company with showroom we always recommended Bristan taps but they can be costly so were very happy to get these on ebay for a much lower price than retail. Excellent quality solid taps with quarter turn ceramic disc operation so should last for years compared to the old rubber washer types.
Cd's are essential for hard water areas!
While now going for traditional due to living in a Victorian property we have also installed the ultra modern ones they produce in previous properties and never been unhappy with the quality of Bristan taps!
Just remember to buy the long spout ones like these if installing into a traditional wash basin as these basins have a deeper shelf. They do make in the 1901 range a shorter spout version for basins without a deep tap shelf. I saw a previous review stating that these taps do not come with flexible hoses - you do not need hoses on pairs of taps - only on monoblock - ie 1 tap hole taps.

Much better now

We originally bought this make of tap several years ago when they had the old style rubber washer type inner workings. Loved the style of them in our old cottage. However, in our hard water area the taps soon degraded as a whole (exteriors) and also becoming very stiff to turn on/off despite changing the washers etc.

Replace them recently with these new versions of the same tap. same style as the old ones but they have the ceramic inner working so it's a quarter turn or so to go from off to full on. Very smooth operation.

Will be interesting to see how long they last now.

Bristan Monza Tap - Great Engineering

Bought this after recommendations from local plumber. The tap is a beautiful piece of engineering and the brushed nickel looks great on our black granite worktop. The tap incorporates a diffuser which streamlines the water as it leaves the nozzle and produces a jet of water which does not splash when it hints the sink or pan. Great design with very high quality finish. Will definitely consider purchasing again.Read full review...

Super Quality taps.

These taps are great quality and have ceramic discs to regulate flow which means much more reliability, especially in hard water areas.
A quarter turn each way give min. To max. Flow. Great looks giving that retro. style with modern convenience.Read full review...

Lovely finish & very smooth action

Taps look great and work very well, although for some reason the washing up liquid doesn't seem to bubble so well, so I'm wondering if there is some sort of coating that will eventually wear off.

aesthetically pleasing and excellent value.

We already had the Bristan 1901 bath taps for our lovely old bath, but by this time were strapped for cash. We saw the matching sink taps on an independent site, but we simply could not afford them on our budget. So we thought just perhaps e bay might have them a little cheaper. This did seemed unlikely, but when we looked we found THIS site and they were twenty pounds cheaper!
They were delivered very quickly and are absolutely perfect. We couldn't be more pleased - they are really quality..

Best taps ever

Superb quality, taps actually match in terms of final machining and finish (compared with Bath Store ones they’re replacing), brass nut and threaded pillar, wide flat base easy to seal against sink top, effortless and effective ceramic valve gives good water flow. And the writing on the cap lines up straight when the tap is closed :) Highly recommended, I’m now replacing the bath and vanity sink taps too with the Bristan 1901 versions of those.Read full review...

Worth paying the extra for if you want a traditional tap

Solid, well-made and very elegant taps with long throw.
Flow rate is good at low pressure for a ceramic disk tap. The real test in my hard water area is how long they last before dripping when closed. Old fashioned washered taps are easier and cheaper to fix (new washer or reseat), but these do at least have instructions for cleaning the ceramic disk.Read full review...
