Not for the non-programer

What I don't like is Tasker isn't built into the RM Pro control software. And the 'free' version of Tasker expires in 5 days.
So, you really don't get a lot of time to evaluate the product, before you have to buy the additional app..
BUT, If didn't want to use voice commands, and 'smart' scrips, and just use your phone or tablet as a remote control to manually turn things off and on, then it's okay.. The e-remote program works fine for lights, TV and sound systems. I have not tested the timers, or the AC control, using the built-in temperature sensor.Read full review

I was amazed to find that the apps presented with this device are only partialy available for iphone users and is available for android but you'll need to pay for it. there's no app that controls it from a PC. The device works well but if you want to add sensors and do minimal programming, then you're stuck!Read full review

Cool Remote Device for a Phone

A cool device to easily make your phone a universal remote.
Download the App first and create a BroadLink e-Control account after installing app.
Make sure to back up any changes to the "cloud".
You can sync up to different devices through the cloud. I have the apps on my cell and my tablet.
Set-up is easy for IR remote, but you need some IT experience to setup RF.
The "manual" is pretty basic and you can contact them for the unit from BroadLink e-Control.
You can get info from the App on how to set up the remotes and macros or "Scenes."
Make sure the BroadLink e-Control device is pointed towards the IR devices you want to control.
I have had this for about a year and finally figured out how to get it to work with X10 RF remote lighting switches and outlets.
I will recommend this device but keep in mind you need to follow the directions in the App.Read full review

I got this unit as start of my own Smart Home. Build quality is OK, and it worked from first try, no hassle. quite a nice little device. The broadlink app is garbage, but get the 3rd party tasker plugin for android to link to alexa and you have a huge number of possibilities.

I am somewhat tech savvy, but I cannot get Alexa to talk to this puppy. I have turned my air conditioner on and off with it once but running it with my phone is not a big step up from running it with its remote.
