Excellent character development.

This British program is very good with excellent characters and it is well written. Unfortunately, it is a bit difficult to catch all the conversation with the British and Scottish accents of the actors.

We watch a lot of mysteries, but most manage to provide lighter moments for the typically depressed central characters. Broadchurch doesn't bother. Just too dark when there are other choices.
