An immersive look at warfare

It's not just the storyline that grabs you with this game but an overwhelming atmosphere whenever you turn your head. In some games you wish you cold skip all the cut scenes and sections between the actual gameplay but here you spend your time darting the d-pad in all directions as there is always something happening around you even if there is no actual warfare. The graphics undoubtebly play a major part in this and still stand strong to games that have come out very recently.
The multiplayer system is something of a wonder as it detracts from the normal idea of one-on-one or team game where you rack up kills and then sit smug at the screen. Even the most hardcore of players will notice that their first game will be with a very basic semi-automatic weapon while everyone else seems to be carrying what look (and when you get shot, feel like) cannons. This is because the game works on an experience system where you must gain a certain level of kills to unlock a new weapon or achievements with a certain weapon to obtain upgrades (laser sight, grenade launcher, etc). This will keep you transfixed to the multiplayer way after the single player campaign is over, not only for the feeling of getting a new sight for your gun but also due to the detail of the multiplayer maps and their many nooks and windows you can hide behind waiting for an unsuspecting victim.
An overall superb game which will keep you busy for a long time to come and clearly identifies how the Call of Duty surge in recent years started.Read full review...
