Lively and detailed sound
First class no-frills amp, does what it says on the tin and provides very clean and dynamic amplification for cd players and other line inputs. A definite step up from the entry-level A1 and with 50W plus per channel can drive most speakers to decent levels of volume. Note there is no headphone socket and unless there is the optional MM module fitted internally, no phono input for turntables.
Partly why it sounds so good is that there is little in the way of overload/overheating/short-circuit protection, so care must be taken when wiring speaker cables - and don't try to use this as a party amp at constant full volume as you will eventually blow the output transistors. As a domestic hifi amp it is a very good performer for the money.Read full review

Clean sounding audio - a bit underpowered
A good little amp, with clear sound not too bright not to heavy base yet can deliver both well enough.
My main criticism is it feels a bit underpowered driving into a pair of AR speakers. I don't think there is matching issue I suspect the amp is just a bit underpowered.Read full review
