Difficult set up.

I found it difficult to set up. The printer connected with the router, The PC connected with the router but they would not communicate with each other. The problem appeared to be the PC getting a wrong drivers download. After about a dozen, slow, downloads it got the right drivers and everything worked great and my new printer is great.Read full review...

So-so

I'm updating my review as I was too harsh in the original version...They didn't even include a USB cable. Want one? Buy one! A ton of useless paper manuals in 17 different languages, but no cable! And it can't be just any cable because the printer USB port is square - get this.

The plastic the printer is made from looks awfully cheap, the moving parts incl. trays I'm scared to touch them too often as they feel like they're about to fall apart at any moment.

The whole thing weighs a lot and is very bulky, so keep that in mind as well if you decide to spend your money at one of these.

Print quality is ok, the printer is very loud and can be heard from 2 rooms away...

The drivers/software is on a CD ROM, which I'm sure most users will have no use for. Of course you can (will) download everything from their support site - along with hundreds of MBs of their own crapware programs, widgets and what-not which you will then have to spend more time uninstalling.

Overall a 5/10. To be expected from a cheap printer.

Good little machine with poor instructions for use

Prints and scans well. It's a bit noisy but that's not a problem. Biggest problem is the over-complicated menu system - Canon are so focused on having a long list of possible options that the main ones (printing and scanning documents and photos) you bought the machine for are half forgotten. And who thinks they need a fax machine in this century?!Read full review...

Easy set up.

Most printers today are pretty easy to set up, until you come to the wifi connection, which had defeated me with previous printers, however this one connected quite easily. Apart from set up, happy with printer, though it does tend to print a photo darker than the image on the screen, hence only 4 starsRead full review...

Great versatile printer and scanner

Replaced an identical printer that had developed a fault just outside of its warranty. Really easy to set up on a wifi network, prints wirelessly from any PC or smartphone that has had the Canon app installed on it. Fairly quiet in operation, excellent print quality and reasonably high speed printing too. Can scan documents straight to a smartphone. You need to allow space in front of the printer for the printed pages to be ejected, and it's a bit heavy at around 12kg boxed.
It also has a fax option but I'm not using that and have not set it up to act as a fax machine

Cannon Pixma MX475

I would recommend this printer to anyone. It was so easy to set up and the print quality is excellent. Iam still finding new things to do with the software download.

Superb value

Got a new HP W10 laptop recently and thought a new printer was due. Considered HP and then saw this for under £30. Outstanding quality for the money - it is more like a small business printer. Easy to wirelessly set up to hub, laptop and iPhone and I like the design as you dont have to fit paper in the top against a flimsy plastic plate; this machine is a bottom feeder with the advantage of separately doing photocopies from the top of the unit. That speeds things up. Class purchase, very impressed with Canon and highly recommended.Read full review...

Competent printer. Shame about the setup.

This is a wireless multifunction printer/scanner/fax device. If you have WPS the setup might be easy but I don't. I assumed that if I manually configured the wireless connection by finding the SSID and entering the passphrase that was all I would have to do. Indeed after I did this I could browse to the printer's home page. But this is not good enough apparently. If you don't have WPS you must connect the printer by USB cable to perform the installation on the first PC. When this is done you can remove the USB cable and subsequent PC istallations are easy.

So there are five hours of my life I won't get back.

Good features, cheap enough to discard once absorption sponge is full

The printers absorption sponge fills after a year of heavy use, over 15000 copies, then it stops working completely, not worth sending off and have replaced, cheap enough to dispose and replace
