Great Value Domestic Priner

For up to moderate use I don't think you'll find better for the price. It's not a particularly robust piece of kit and needs reasonably gentle handling but the print quality is excellent for an inkjet and the various other features make it the ideal printer for the domestic user. A bit flimsy but does printing and scanning to a satisfactory standard.

Scanning seems to be more hassle than my old Pixma. Whiuch had a scanning app that loads on my desktop. The scanning app on this printer only works for Android and not Windows 10.

The iperating instructions on the printer are very small and the whole printer is very flimsy. Ibarely touched it and the cover feels like it will fall off soon.

Tricky to set-up. A bit slow to print but OK quality and value for money.

Tricky to get the right printer files and set-up to print. I was using Linux Mint 20.03 with deb. packages. Eventually found them on the Canon UK - not European - website. Once downloaded Mint does everything else. Don't bother using a cable to print - far easier to use the wireless onboard from the front panel. Printing is a bit slow bit good quality for an inkjet. Lots of options for adjust quality - probably downwards. I bought this reconditioned just to print B/W to replace a Samsung laser printer. It's good value for money but you need a bit of patience to set this up. Best of luck if you use Windows O/S.Read full review...

Very poor build quality and the ink usage not good, PRINT SPEED IS NOT AS STATED

Very slow i bought this printer to replace my old cannon printer. Build quality is poor if you put side by side as i did from ink install /paper tray/scanning lid. installing paper in paper tray is a task in its self with a plastic cover that has to be replaced just right . I could make a cup of tea by the time the printer has completed one print . My old printer would print 3/4times the speed in colour!
I did not mention this to my wife but was informed by her on my return home "what is that you have bough"! She had to use her works printer to print return bar codes off .Sorry to say sums it up

Good value home multi-function printer.

Easy to set up but have to download manual for full use (eg scanning). Print quality good but sometimes takes several minutes to prepare itself! No compatible ink cartridges yet available.
On the whole good value for the price.Read full review...

Small in size but very capable.

Straight forward to to set up and use. Although the screen is small it’s easy to navigate, print quality is acceptable for the price.

Great photos but temperamental

Easy to set up, like most printers these days the ink seems more expensive than the printer. Photos come out brilliant. Sometimes seems to get confused and throw out part pages not sure if that’s the printer or latest version of windowsRead full review...

Good buy & value for money - does what it says on the box and more.

Very pleased with it, replaced an earlier Canon MG4250 model that stopped picking paper up. I needed a front load /front eject printer to fit in he space, looked at others including Epsons which met this criteria but the reviews regarding ink usage and complications with using majority black put me off that brand. Very pleased with this one, think it's old new stock but set up and getting it working was a dream for me - not too technical etc. Didn't bother with the WiFi connection as hard wiring was available and could be used on the printer. Only gripe would be the flash to bang time it takes from pressing the print button to printed paper actually appearing is still too long, a fault of the older one. Lots of clanking, whirring and mechanical noises check the actions / print heads etc. This is one area the manufacturer could improve. Other than that minor gripe, very pleased and highly recommended.Read full review...

pixma printer

Bad points are that the printer is very sensitive to paper with a slight crease or fold and will jam in unit and hard to remove. Good points are print quality is good and works great if fresh paper is used and is flat and even.Read full review...

Good budget printer, scanner Copier

Bought this as new in the box as the previous owner could not get it to work wirelessly. After reading the manual and spending 20 minutes on the Canon website I managed to set it up and now works perfectly. It gives great quality prints, a set of cartridges is around £55, but this was for a black extended life cartridge and a standard colour cartridge. So far, I would definitely recommend for a budget printer. I have not yet used the scanner or copier fuctionRead full review...
