This is a great camera!

I have had my G7X about a month now and I absolutely love it! Sure it's not perfect, but it is one of the best, if not the best, camera I have ever owned. Usually I spend around $250 for a "nice" camera. This one cost me $450, which is a deal for this model, and due to the fact there is no manufacturer's warranty, just the retailer's warranty.

The camera is a bit big and heavy: for those that place the highest priority on those things it may not be right for you. The housing is metal and it feels sturdy. Haven't dropped it yet (knock on wood) but I think it could handle a light drop.

The G7X takes fantastic pictures. Pictures in dimly lit places like restaurants and without using flash! The colors are so natural and life-like indoors and at night - without flash it makes all the difference. It only has 4.2X zoom, but with 20 mega-pixels, you can digitally zoom in and not be that much worse than a 12 MP camera on pure optical zoom.

The selfie touch screen also works for overhead shots- just put the camera upside down and fold the screen out to ninety degrees or so, then put it overhead and take your shot over the crowd. If I remember right, it even knows it was upside down and flips the picture over for viewing.

I've heard bad things about battery life but I haven't taken it on a vacation yet to really push it. It has an "ECO" mode that puts the camera to sleep after a very short time to safe power, and that is super-annoying since it takes a few seconds to wake back up after going to sleep.

So it's not perfect, but it is head and shoulders above the $200 compact point and shoots and way cheaper than the Sony RX 100 cameras, which I heard are only marginally better.

Exellent point and shoot camera in size and features.

Great, easy-to-use and operate point and shoot camera. This replaced an older Sony camera with similar features. The improved technology built into this camera makes for excellent, focused pictures with correct lighting . . . I used the flash unit very little. With the available "full manual" mode, I will enjoy practicing taking pictures that require some additional degree of adjustment in aperture and shutter speed.Read full review...

Great compact camera

I love the compact size, the ease of handling, and the great quality of the images. In fact it is so compact that some of the controls get in the way some times.
It focuses fast and accurately, and if you like the manual mode you are going to love this model.
It has a great resolution and a very brigth lens, so you can take pictures without flas in low ligth conditions.
It has a good macro capability too.
It has a big sensor and a lot of megapixels to crop your images.
The WiFi is super easy to use, you have your pictures in your smartphone in a blink.
I recommend this camera.

I can't take pictures but i feel like a photographer with this camera!!

I got this camera because of all the reviews saying it's one of the best with its image stabilization and picture quality. I'm a dude that cannot take a decent picture to save my life. My girlfriend and i would literally get into fights because i would messed up the picture i'm taking of her while we're traveling. It's easy to use, prints come out with great quality and it saved my relationship. Read full review...

LOVE IT

I bought this camera mainly for making YouTube videos and vacation vlogs. The camera has great image quality and a good depth of field (but sometimes it blurs out the subject such as in a group shot of people). The auto mode is perfect for me because it automatically chooses the best setting for me. I'm not techy, so this compact camera is easy to use and still gives amazing results.

Great Camera

This is a great camera. Simple to use if you choose, but has lots of capability if you choose to use them. Has very high resolution capability, but take low resolution if you need it.

Best point and shoot camera

It’s pricier than your regular point and shoot but for it’s above average image quality due to it’s large sensor it’s a better value than your other professional grade cameras.

There’s thousand dollar cameras with the exact image quality than this little champ.Read full review...

Powerful and portable

Quite impressed with this product so far. Has superb video and image quality. The only downside is the mediocre audio quality and is sensitive to the wind. Perfect for travelling and vlogging.
