Great camera
I bought this camera as a start to my photography hobby. For quite a long time I've used my dad's 20D and various other cameras owned by my friends. It's great value for money and although it doesnt have quite as many features as some newer cameras it still takes photos just as good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone taking it up as it's a great camera for a great price. Unfortunately good lenses aren't as cheap! And if you don't like the camera or don't use it much it is reasonably weighty and strong so makes a good doorstop or potential weapon. Read full review

Update to Canon EOS 50D
Wow! What a superb camera this is - I updated from Canon EOS 40D (which I found to be fantastic) and found the main improvements to be:-
Much better resolution on the screen.
Higher ISO available so can shoot in less light.
15 Megapixels so better images and easier to crop images.
It looks and handles like the 40D so was extremely easy to get used to and I am absolutely delighted with it.Read full review

Good pro Camera. been using the 10D for three year. some pictures have gone around the world. setting are easy. basic. nice large screen than the 10D. lighter too.
No Cons if one doesn't like it that up to them. it not about the camera but the pictures. PS I need a larger cm card. Is a battery drainer. I use it at iso 800 with average results.and want to test the white noise in different conditions.Read full review

Good solid camera
I wanted a second Canon - I already have a 70D. This one has a very high shutter count but what actually mattered to me was the excellent visual condition of the camera. However, I have noted that focus in 'live view' seems impossible to obtain. This does not matter to me much as I did not buy it to use live view. Too early yet to say what I think of the cameras performance, but so far I am pleased with the pictures I have taken.Read full review

Bought this camera body at a great price,via Ebay auction,to replace my 40d!
A lot of improvements,a better rear screen,and 15 mp too!
These cameras are superbly made,and are a real bargain at around £200,a bit more if a low shutter count,with box,etc.
Fast to use,great images,and only lacks a video mode,no great loss,as far as I'm concerned!
I also have a 1100d,and Panasonic G6 for video if I need to.
They seem like toys,after handling and using the 40d and 50d

CANON 50D
Будучи владельцем CANON 550D имел неосторожность взять в руки CANON 40D, фотоаппарат товарища, 550 как то резко стал неудобным. Увидел на витрине в магазине CANON 50D и влюбился заочно, но останавливала цена! Прошло 4 года, аппарат устарел и появился на вторичном рынке по доступной цене. Настал мой час! Пересмотрел кучу объявлений на российских сайтах, на этом, и зацепился за объявление этого продавца, причём не с первого раза, а заходил, читал, сравнивал, и всё таки вернулся сюда. Оформил покупку. Продавец отправил товар практически сразу после подтверждения оплаты. Такое ощущение, что фотоаппарат уже был упакован, а курьер стоял за дверью! Свой CANON 50D получил в лучшем виде, упакован был в родную коробку и вложен в большую коробку с надутыми полиэтиленовыми пакетами. На корпусе фотоаппарата есть еле заметные потёртости на углах и в местах крепления ремня, что указано в объявлении и не стало неожиданностью. Трек отслеживался сначала на английском почтовом сайте, затем посылку передали в российскую курьерскую службу, где трек также отслеживался. Курьер доставил и передал посылку с рук на руки. CF card, как и было обещано, была в аппарате, 32 MB, и на неё помещается всего пара фотографий в большом разрешении (это тоже было отмечено в объявлении). Аккумулятор был заряжен и я сразу сделал несколько снимков, убедился что фотоаппарат исправно работает. Объектив CANON 35-80 USM, приложен в качестве бонуса, с виду как новый, работает изумительно! Жалко что он дублирует фокусные расстояния CANON 28-105,который уже есть. Шейный ремень положили абсолютно новый! В комплект поставки входило всё что написано в объявлении. Покупкой очень доволен, на данный момент сбылась моя мечта. Уверен,что этот фотоаппарат последний из динозавров ещё послужит мне верой и правдой. А дальше, не схватиться бы за CANON 5D Mark 4 случайно.Read full review
