Brings the EOS system to a compact format

The EOS M3 is a brilliant little camera with some good basic lenses. However, the versatility can be increased with this adapter to the whole EOS range of lenses. For me, this means I can use my macro lenses with the smaller camera that also features some useful features, one of which is the flip out screen for low level close ups.
The bulk of the unit increases when using an EF lens but you hold the lens, not the camera and it will balance well. The tripod socket is a nice touch and the combination will be well balanced in use when using a tripod without straining the camera mount.
In use, when you switch the camera on you here an EF lens hunting for focus as you move the camera. Focus speeds depend on the lens you use. I found with my 24-105 lens it was quick but with the 100-400 series 1 it was ponderous. I don't think the M3 or any system compact camera for that matter are as good as a DSLR for action photography, especially with a telephoto.
I see my EOSM as a camera to take on holiday with an extra EF lens, and therefore reduce weight for hand baggage when you may only be allowed 7kg or less by some airlines.
The price of the adapter is fair. There are cheap one but I don't think they retain the autofocus function, and there is a very expensive adapter (more than the Canon) that seems to offer no advantage over the manufacturer's offering. All in all I have been pleased with this adapter, it does what I want it to do.
