Excellent photographs, very easy to use, great value for money ideal DSLR
I got in to photography last year and bought the Canon EOS1000D. I got used to all the controls and became a "Canon" fan as the operations are easy to use and understand. I needed a second camera and would have happily got myself another EOS1000D but as the 1100D has now taken over with a few extra features it made sense to upgrade to this model. Same great menu system, added feature is movie capability and better CMOS quality. All the few additional features make it worthwhile the upgrade for somebody like me who is on a budget and cant run to the 550D or better. Kit lens supplied feels cheap and lightweight but has performed well, it is plastic after all but then I had a number of lenses from my EOS1000D that fit it anyway so it is no problem for me. Canon has a great wide selection of lenses to fit this model, picture quality is great and it is more than enough for my requirements. Highly recommended and much easier to get to use than the Nikon equivalent (better menu). Could do with a slightly larger live view screen but at 2.7" it is an improvement on the EOS1000D 2.5" version.Read full review...
A beautiful product, well worth getting!
A lightweight professional camera that produces the most beautiful pictures. Easy to use, the features are excellent. Looks pleasing, the accessories that come with the camera are good. Perfect to carry around and capture special moments.
I bought this camera, because I wanted a more exciting photography experience and that is exactly what I got!
There is nothing to dislike about this camera, it is perfect in every way and I am extremely pleased that i bought this one.
I have never had an SLR camera before and this is perfect for beginners and my photographer friend said that it's perfect for more professional shootings.

Perfect backup DSLR camera.
Needed a backup camera body and a budget one like this fitted the bill. Excellent features and good picture quality (matching other much more expensive cameras). Drawback is this is obviously built down to a cost, therefore its extremely light and plasticky - I would expect it would not take much rough handling. However, a made to measure all over rubber jacket is available and I will be investing in one which I expect will solve this issue.

At first on looking at instruction book - you think omg, what have I done. But with auto focus and image stabiliser - awesome camera.
Be nice though if it had come with some sort of bag - and a cover for the back screen. Know it does not affect picture if scratched - but still would be nice.Read full review...
Be amazed at its versatility
This camera was a used item. On arrival I was amazed at the condition of the camera, it looked brand new. All of the correct items were in the box it had been packed extremely well. The camera performed as it should, so no complaints there. Overall it is a fantastic piece of kit, takes a bit of time getting used to the menus but we'll worth the effort. The instruction cd contains every thing you need to know. The photographs are simply amazing. Overall it is a camera that will grow with you. I consider it a very worthwhile purchase and highly recommend it, there is nothing that I dislike about this camera. Buy one, you will not be disappointed.Read full review...

I'm doing my first year of photography at college at the moment and I needed something that I could use without difficulty. Although I haven't got any other DSLR's to compare it to, I think this is the perfect camera for beginners. It's simple and straight forward, if there is a function you don't understand, there's a button next to the screen; when clicked it will give you a brief description of what it does. Very Pleased
This is my first DSLR so still getting used to its potential. It does seem to take very good pictures and I'm trying it out for Astrophotgraphy at the moment.

Avoid purchasing from the Canon Outlet Ebay Store.
Review is based on the Canon Outlet Ebay Store sending me 1100D with a faulty sensor (out of the box)and declining to replace the camera (initially suggesting that I send it off for repair albeit it was broken on arrival). In turn, the scoring should be disregarded for the purposes of weighing the camera up ~ but should be taken as a warning that purchasing from the manufacturer's online outlet shop carries some risk should problems be encountered and also that this model may have quality control issues.Read full review...
