Best value and accurate

This is a great bow for money. Many crossbows are made in Taiwan and come with different bells and whistles. Some have molded in color plastic stocks and are bare bows. The Carbon Express Piledriver 390 comes with an aluminum barrel, string stops, and string dampers and has an adjustable stock. The crank that comes with the bow helps a lot if you are sitting in a treestand and need to cock the bow. It assembled easily and sighted very quickly at 30 yards with the supplied bolts. The only complaint that I have is that the cocking device string kept getting entangled inside the device and I had to pry it out with an allen wrench and try to roll it back, but maybe I need to use this device more to get it to smooth out. Mixed review

The assembly of this crossbow is difficult. The assembly instructions are extremely poor.
I had to view several videos on the internet to learn how to assemble the bow.
My bow , in the parts assembled by the factory, was incorrectly assembled.
I had to take the bow completely apart and reassemble it to the correct configuration.
It was assembled by the factory with all the cables in the wrong position. For the money,
it seems a good buy.

Great bow worth way more than the selling price.

This is a great bow for triple the price it is selling for. Yes the instructions leave a bit to be desired but their tech support people are great. The scope is not bad the mounting rings are the weakness there. I will probably replace the rings with weaver rings. The bow is ultra quiet with on exception. That being the rather loud click when to turn the safety off. This can be a problem as you will normally turn it off when a deer is in range. This same problem exists on any crossbow I've tried. Do not shoot multiple shots at the same bullseye out to 30 yards unless you don't mind destroying bolts, this is a good thing caused by excellent accuracy. While the cocking crank is a nice feature I have no problem cocking it with the cocking rope. I'm 74 years old and only weigh 165 lbs.Read full review

Carbon Express X-Force Pile Driver 390

Item came in well packaged box without any damage. All of the components were of high quality material and assembly was easy. After securing the scope, I sighted in the bow at 30 yards.and consistently hitting the bulls eye.. I am 67 years old and have a problem with cocking a bow with anything over 150# draw weirht, so the hand crank was a blessing. The hand crank worked flawlessly. I've had more expensive bows that in my opinion would not compare to this one.
I would definitely recommend this bow to anyone looking for an entry line bow

Just a super crossbow and will certainly recommend it!

Received bow mid-morning!
After checking out the contents
and reading the direction I started
to assemble! Took about an hour
following the direction.
The crossbow is lighter than I thought, also smaller and
seems to fit my me much better than the
last one I had a couple years ago! I had injured
my shoulder a few years ago and with the crank
there was no problem getting it cocked and ready to go!
I like everything about the Pile Driver!
Great price, the size, easy to load, once sighted in
bullseye every time at 30 yards and very smooth!
Thanks for a great product and looking forward
to deer season
.

Buy this Great Value

Very Good Value, Very Powerful Crossbow, Instructions for assembly and sighting in scope were very easy to followup. Others have complained of the scope being sub par, but I had no problem adjusting the focus and sighting the unit in. A word of warning, make sure you have an adequate back stop. I use a Morrell target and the pile driver bolts easily blow right through. One bolt was offered up to the powers that be and probably will never be found again. A secondary back stop solved that problem. You probably don't want to shoot multiple bolts at the same target as you are likely to destroy any bolts that are already down range - yes it's that accurate!

I am sure that there are better crossbows out there, but you'll have to spend two to three times the money. I think that this is a great value.

Great performing bow for the price!!

This is a great crossbow for the money! I was very impressed with the overall quality of it. It shoots great groups clear out to 70 yards. I haven’t tried it past that but I’m sure it would do fine. The only thing keeping it from being 5 star for me is the scope on mine would not hold zero. Very cheap scope comes with it. It’s rated at 390 and when we chronographed it it was 335 but was consistent at that speed. The other big downside is the trigger pull. Very stiff and jerky. Going to have to do something about that as it will affect accuracy. If you pull trigger slowly it will stick then jump and it is a very long pull. All in all very good bow for the price just consider buying a different scope when purchasing this package. I bought a used scope that originally came off of a ravin crossbow and it made all the difference. My friend spent $1500.00 on a ravin crossbow and this one is actually quieter and groups just as well (after you get used to the trigger pull). Also his is rated at 400 plus FPS but when chronographed his was only 375. If you buy one you won’t be disappointed!Read full review

Very good cross bow for the price.

Can't beat the price. Fairly easy to assemble. Cable slide is a little tricky, but you can figure it out.

Some words of caution:

Don't lube the string and rail until you're finished with assembly. The lube will get all over the place as you have to handle the cross during assembly. Unlike compound bow string wax, this lube is very soft.

Don't cock the bow until you are ready to shoot. The cranking device and cocking string cannot be used to de-cock it.

Don't expect much out of the scope. No instructions on what the various lines are for. You'll have to sight in at multiple distances to figure out which lines match up with your distances.

Plan on buying extra bolts as you will likely damage some during practice and sight-in. (Probably typical of all cross bows.)

Great crossbow

Accurate, very powerful, 120 plus ft. pounds. A piledriver arrow with a 100 gn broadhead and a luminocks weighs 473 grains. Actual Chrono speed is 350fps. I have not tried lighter arrows, this is devastating power. The scope is adequate. Lined up to 20 yards, it is good to 40. Not going to deer hunt past that, so haven't tested it. Less noise than other crossbows, but all crossbows are a bit noisy. Trigger is decent, build quality good, features are good. One negative was a quiver that mounted sideways, made the bow wider. I ordered the quiver that runs longitudinal, way better. Using the rope to cock it is easy, but if needed, the crank actually works well, and quietly. I cussed it a bit at first, then made friends with it. It only attaches to the bow for cocking, then is removed.Read full review

So far, Great bow, great price

I just bought this crossbow a few weeks ago. I took it hunting and bagged a big doe. so far, I love it.
I read all the reviews, and one said it was loud. I've had several crossbows and this one was the quietest I've owed. The bolt hitting the deer was a lot louder. complete pass through. broadhead buried in dirt and shaft broke off. That happens. It seems to be very good quality and made well. I don't like scopes on my crossbows, so I used a burris fastfire 3. I like to keep both eyes open while deer hunting. Only time will tell if this love affair lasts. The cocking crank works great, but you have to be careful about handle coming out. It is silent. If you are careful, you can use it to decock. The carbon express line was discontinued, but I will get a Rocky mountain crossbow for my daughter. Again, I haven't had it long enough to know if it will hold up, but I think it will.
