I purchased this item because other cats were coming in. The problem is lots of cats now have magnets on their collars so the ones that do enter as usual. The magnets on the collar should be unique but they seem to open all magnetic cat flaps. This is a design fault and defeats the object. Excellent Cat Flap

I've had this cat flap for 14 years at my current address and I had the same one at my previous address for 6 years. I have no hesitation in recommending it. I only change the battery every 2 - 3 years they seem to last forever and have only had to change the actual flap door once at my very timid cat was too impatient to wait for the magnet to release the flap after getting a fright. This was very easy to do and very inexpensive to replace.
