Excellent refractor telescope for Astronomy/Astrophotography

With a 4 inch aperture, it's big enough for moon and planetary viewing, and brighter DSOs. The red dot finder works great, the fine tuning up and down arms help keep objects in view, the tripod is solid. It comes with 1.25 inch diagonal, and eyepieces, but will also take 2 inch fittings for cameras, or a 2 inch diagonal/eyepieces. A fantastic beginer scope, that turns into an intermediate scope by upgrading the diagonal, and eyepieces, but images are great right out of the box. very good lens

the mount is weak wobbly. mine had to be repaired the slow motion controls did not move the telescope. worm gears did not mesh correctly. a lot of grease were it should not be.very good lens.

It is what I expected from Celestron

I knew when I ordered this telescope that the eyepieces, diagonal, and perhaps the finder would not be of great quality. In spite of this, I ordered it anyway because I had heard that the telescope tube assembly, tripod and mount were good and would last me a long time. I was right and am very pleased with the main telescope and mount. It has a very nice quality main lens, good focuser and sturdy tripod. The rest of the accessories mentioned earlier, are of poor to mediocre quality, but they are easily replaced for not too much money, leaving me in the end a very good telescope to last many years.Read full review
