Awesome Production !!!

The production of Celtic Thunder is a very exceptional show.

The music, the set and the voices were performed spectacularly.

Anyone of Irish and/or Scottish Heritage needs to own this DVD show.
If you are not of Irish and/or Scottish decent, I'm sorry, but you should own it too. You will not be disappointed with it and it will let you enjoy some traditional Irish Ballads and Scottish Ballads as well as other world renowned songs performed with a little different flair than we are used to hearing.

If you have enjoyed any or all of the Celtic Women shows, you will not be disappointed with this show either. It is on the same excellent level as the Women.

All the performers are professional and harmonize really well together.
The song selection was perfect and the orchestra was awesome. I don't believe I have one bad thing to say about this show.

The song " Lauren and I " written and performed by Keith Harkin is a simple, but very heartfelt love song. The song played with the 68 piece orchestra is vey well done. Keith is a up and coming talent to be reckoned with.

I can't say that I have one specific or favorite performance, I'd have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it all !!!

Celtic Thunder''s first concert doesn't disappoint!

Celtic Thunder has accumulated fans from all around the world! They have a sound that is all their own, and they have maintained & improved that sound for more than a decade, even with different singers replacing those who have gone. THIS DVD IS THE RECORD OF THEIR FIRST CONCERT, the first time the world discovered them, and it continues to be MY FAVORITE! It was made before the untimely death of George Donaldson, that amazing bass with good humor that just spilled out of him. And Damian McGinty is such a treat at barely 14 years old-- he exudes talent, but is still self-conscious and humble, and so fun to watch! There's an interview with the original cast, giving the viewer insight into individual personalities, and the dynamics of the group as it was just launching into to world. Observe reactions in the crowd and you can figure out the singers' family members. Watch closely--no, you can't pick him out! A future favorite in the group hasn't been discovered yet. Neil is playing guitar and only singing back-up. If you're already a fan, you'll love this DVD! If you aren't yet a fan, you might be one after watching! This is a wonderful show!Read full review...

Celtic Thunder: The Show (2008, DVD

We watched this on our PBS station. It was so awesome. The music and words just seem to wash over you. The performers are fantastic. They bring this concert to a new level. This is a great DVD for the whole family. Mine is probably going to have to be replaced soon as we have played it so much. there are also songs on the DVD not included on the CD. Just a truly wholesome show.
Phil Coulter & Sharon Brown have outdone themselves. Phil Coulter has written some of the songs and they are beautiful. Then Keith Harkin's song-Lauren & I, could be a hit single here now. Just great talent all the way through.Read full review...

Celtic Thunder: The Show

I bought this DVD after seeing the live show. It is the most amazing combination of wonderful male voices performing songs selected for their different ranges and singing styles. There is something for everyone here: Classic, Contemporary, Traditional Irish, and Ballads. There are some familiar songs such as Desperado and She but the original songs written for the show are really a special treat. The show is sexy, employing lots of movement on the part of the singers and this physicality works well for the men. It is heartbreaking, funny, and uplifting. Since it is a recording of their very first live performance, the excitement of the singers is palpable. Their is an innocence and naivete that is endearing, especially when you view the bonus material, including the interviews. After dozens of viewings I have not tired of it yet and added the CD's to my collection and to my mp3 player as well.Read full review...

Celtic Thunder: DVD

This is one of the best DVD's I have. I bought it for my granddaughter, as I was going out to Oregon to go to the Celtic Woman Show with her, and wanted her to see the Celtic Thunder DVD to see how good they both are. She just played it and played it while I was there, and really loves it. I will be glad when they make another DVD, I will certainly buy it as soon as I hear a new one is out. They are certainly a wonderful singing group, and their voices blend so well when singing together. I also enjoy the funny bits that are thrown in. This DVD was a good introduction as to who & what Celtic Thunder are about.

This DVD was purchased after watching Celtic Thunder Heritage on PBS. I wanted to compare their first program to the recent broadcast.

I like that The Show opens with the same song as on Heritage, but with a little more drama in the production. It also has 3 same songs as on Heritage. There are more songs performed here, however, a few of them are not what you would consider traditonal celtic music.

If you like listening to instruments that produce a pretty sound, you should not be disappointed in the orchestra and small band that accompany the singers.Read full review...

Celtic Thunder

These guys are AWESOME! If you like Celtic music it's a definite must have...their voices are unbelieveable and in the early shows Damien is 15 years old and has a voice you would not believe!!!! I decided to buy it because I am always searching the tv listings for the next time the show comes on PBS and set the alarm on our tv to remind us...now we can watch it any time we choose. Again, if this is the type music you like, you would definitely enjoy watching them! We're hoping to be able to get tickets to see them live when they come to our area later this year!!!!!!Read full review...

Celtic Thunder

My wife and sons, all who love music, have played the dvd every chance they get. The group of 5 men have amazing talent. The group is made of 5 young men ranging from ages of 15 to 40, all with an amazing voice and talent to entertain. The instrumental in the program is equally impressive, from the drums, to strings and everything. The visuals are awsome as well, very colerful.If you enjoy music and the arts, then this dvd will make an excellent addition to your collection.I highly recommend this item.
