This slim volume beautifully encapsulates meditative worship.

The book lists a little over 100 chants: each brief and with few words, written to be sung repetitively. Only a few are in English, and the book will be a better resource if the congretation would be comfortable singing in other languages. Latin features prominintly, which would be useful for some churches. The book starts with a couple of pages describing the type of worship the music was written for, and these words are worth dwelling on.

Some may find the small numbers of own-language chants off-putting, but for those who are familiar and engaged by this type of worship, this book is a modest gem.Read full review...
