Action with a back story

The first time I watched this program I was on holiday in Thailand and couldn't sleep Chicago fire was on a loop. I started watching at about chapter 3,I was hooked once I had got over Billy from neighbours and house was now a lieutenant in the Chicago fire dept.
The stories have a great background story not the there is a fire they put it out type of thing. We get an in site into some of the arsonists,why they do it, the causes of fire the investigations in to it the story behind the story. Added to this the USA fire houses also house the Ambulance service and a rescue service called Squad which seem to be called out to everything. The personal story behind some of the characters is also explored not just the in and out of bed ones although there's a few of them. We get the visits to prison to meet among other's one of the fire service mother s. Also the guilt felt by others at the death of their colleagues the feeling that they could have done something to help prevent it. The characters are well acted an in site into personal lives is surprisingly fresh they don't live in million dollar mansions and have problems that many people face. There is death of character's you get fond of and surprises from others. Added to this a introduction to Chicago PD another review there, it's a great show I own all the box sets of both can't wait for the next.Read full review...
