Better than anything else I've tried...

I have a Patterdale-cross with a 'broken' coat - similar to a Border terrier. This tool gently removes all his top coarse coat, really easy to use and he really enjoyed being groomed - he used to get fed up after a while when I used the 'rake'-type thing which was nowhere near as quick and effective. It has left him looking very smart and it does a very tidy job. Time will tell as to how well his coat grows back but for the spring and summer he looks great.
It was quite expensive but it is a lovely well made proper quality tool that will last forever by the look of it. Very pleased and I think worth the money.
I read plenty of reviews before deciding which size blade would best suit his coat and there are plenty of useful reviews which were helpful. Make sure you get the right size blade.Read full review

Fantastic tool and superb quality,
I would think it will last a lifetime and so pleased I didn’t go for one of the cheaper makes on the market. Quality Dog Stripping Tool

I have a Pedigree KC Registered Lakeland Terrier, and he's 16 Months old. I use a Mars stripping comb for his wiry hair which he's fine with, but the softer hair around his head, legs, underneath and chest is more problematic due to it being softer and harder to remove, and this part of his grooming he's not so fussed on. I tend to use Mars coat king for the more difficult areas, and only lightly on his back and more coarser hair.
This comb has been a revelation, as it is completely painless in the more difficult areas on his body, and when his coat is at a more desired length it is also easier to strip at a shorter length. I would advise to use this comb sparingly and not to rely on it all the time, as the coat can become softer as with clipping and lose it's colour.
I would recommend this stripper as an additional tool in your grooming kit, but not all the time and only as an aid to more problematic areas. I tend to keep my dog with short hair but not anywhere near as close to the body as the show dogs, as I personally think they look nicer that way. Also this wiry coat does give some degree of protection from the elements etc.Read full review

I have an 8 year old double coated west highland terrier. I felt very sceptical about the great reviews. But I am very happy with the product. The first time I used it I took about a shopping carrier bag of undercoat from "Rory". As a result his top coat in lying straighter and flatter. Previously his coat was wavy and prone to curl. Brilliant grooming tool!

Brilliant dog grooming tool. My rough-coated Jackshund sheds a lot and this razor-comb does an excellent job. It's gentle, yet effective in removing the undercoat and excess hair. Great for border terriers coat

This tool is excellent for keeping my border terriers coat neat and tidy. This is my first border terrier, now 8 months. His coat was ready for stripping and rather than hand plucking I just run the coat king through. Brings out loads of dead hair and he doesn't object. For a pet strip it does the job quickly although you need to use a stripping knife or hand strip or scissor the legs and head. I will probably use this every few weeks to keep him tidy.
