Things are not what they appear to be

Good brand radio,but open package had found the electrical cord was already had been opened, factory box looked rough around the edges and the digital channel selection read out was not working as should unhappy about purchase . The Cobra 29 continues to be a viable performer, well in to the 21st century.

The Cobra 29, in all its incarnations, has been with us for at least fifty years. There have been twists and turns in its history, and, when Uniden was no longer making the boards, creativity gave way to consistency, something the Chinese manufacturers are quite good at.
Yes, the design is old, no question; but these units are performers. I can still plug in a 30 year old model, and know, that if it wasn't abused, it will do its job.
More importantly, it is easy to repair. Parts, like the light bulb on the meter, do burn out, but replacements are readily available. So are the output devices, as long as you avoid all the counterfeits on the web!
For the adventurous, the units are modifiable, and numerous websites discuss that is exquisite detail.
What doesn't the old lady do? It doesn't scan. Not an issue if you are sticking to a particular channel when traveling.
To summarize: rugged, easy to maintain, and modify, and a solid performer.Read full review

Great classic radio

I had cobra 29ltds for most of my 2 million mile trucking career.. some of them just got too beat up but I almost always replaced it with the same.. The times that I purchased other models was because it was an emergency.. Every receiving dock relied on cb, so if I couldn't find a 29ltd, I had to do something different, but my Go To radio is always a 29LTD. I am not trucking anymore but I have a radio in my shack in case a trucker or traveler needs help. Always a great radio.Read full review

Crisp and Clean and wall to wall audio.

I receive my 29LTD sooner than expected , Great looking radio , I install my Astatic 676L Mic on it, Than I put on my bench for a radio check, reports were wall to wall loud and clear ,have not receive no bad report yet.
. But I was still in doubt, So I had a friend record my transmission , Yes radio is loud and clear, Or if you want to say clean and crisp audio. I am glad i made the purchase .
