Camping Necessity

This is just a repackaged version of what my dad, a WWII infantry vet, called an entrenching tool. It was an indispensable accessory on all of my childhood camping trips, and just as necessary (and sturdy) today as it was back in the day. Word of caution: Get out the blaze orange spray paint and paint it so you don't leave it behind! The reason I bought a new one is that my husband did just that last summer, when we were packing up in the rain. So the new one, and several other tools, are now emblazoned with that impossible-to-ignore, noxious orange.Read full review
