Great price, high quality.

I received my coleman lantern/stove check valve removal tool just a few days ago. I have been able to easily remove and replace the check valve from my 1986 coleman stove. It is worth it to just buy the tool rather than trying to force the check valve out with a giant flathead screwdriver. This tool is of excellent quality. The machining of the tool is crisp, obviously done by someone with experience. In addition, after looking around, this was also the best price I could find. Not impressed

The ratchet that comes with the set is poorly made and just junk. I threw it away immediately. The sockets do not have recesses in them so the don't securely mate to ratchets or extensions. I can't speak for the other 2 but the socket for the 220/228 laterns was not the correct size. The notches cut in the socket were too small and would not fit over the valve block on my lanterns. I had to file out the notches to get it to work. The check valve tool is good and it's the only reason it's getting 3 stars. so I would recommend saving some money and just buying that separately. Overall, for the price, I was not impressed with the quality.Read full review

Great tool - makes pulling the check valve a breeze

Excellent tool (greenmountainmolds version). After trying to unstick a stuck check valve ball for two weeks with various solvents and penetrating oils, I ordered this tool. Picked it up at 12.15pm, had it out of the packet at 12.17pm, and had the valve out at 12.19pm ! Great tool, very nicely made, locks into the check valve and lets you immediately crack it open and pull it out, then easy reinsertion afterwards. If you have even a couple of older Coleman stoves/lanterns this tool is worth it to make getting the valve out a regular part of your maintenance and certainly a key part of any refurb.Read full review

It just works.....

My wife thinks I’m silly when I get excited about something that just works, and this tool has me very excited! It just works......what else can be said? Install it as the directions describe, and the valve will come right out! I fixed a lantern that belonged to my late father, and I could see he had tried to use a screwdriver because the valve was chewed up. This tool removed the rounded off valve very easily, I would not have even known it was damaged. Worth every penny!Read full review

A Must for Coleman Stove Maintenance!

If you ever have to remove the check valve in a Coleman Stove, this makes it so easy. I had a old 425E that was pretty gummed up with the mystery green gunk from the leather pump gasket. It comes with two threaded insert, I used the larger one on my stove. I had the check valve out with a simple twist with a crescent wrench. No need to ever use a screwdriver to remove a check valve with this handy tool! The included directions were simple and to the point and the workmanship of the tool was nice machine work, just be sure to give it all a coat of oil when done because it comes as raw steel. GreenMountainMolds Coleman Check Valve Removal Tool is Great!

The GreenMountianMolds made check valve removal tool quickly and easily removed the check valve from my 35 year old Coleman stove. Mike Wells makes a QUALITY check valve tool!

This tool is worth its price in saved time and saved lanterns! It is especially helpful if you have to remove a check valve multiple times (that happened to me with one).

I’ve read a lot of reviews about tools made by foreign manufacturers, but the one made by Mike Wells (Mike W, and look up his video on youtube) is very high quality and cast to fit precisely for the models indicated.

I wish I would have gotten it sooner and I can see myself asking Mike if he has the capability to do this for other brands (as I’m looking to expand my own restoration capabilities).

Could not remove check valve from lantern. Bought this and have easely removed and cleaned two lanterns check valve. Expensive but a great product that is worth the cost. It is almost easy to use when compared to trying to remove a check valve with a screw driver or even a modified 5/8" wood drill bit.Read full review

63 year old lantern restored

A couple of months ago I struggled trying to remove the check valve from a 1977 Coleman 425 stove tank. Now I'm in the middle of working on my Dad's Coleman 228E Lantern I find the check valve needs to be replaced! Not wanting to go through the hassle of removing the check valve like I did on the stove I got the Check Valve Removal Tool from Greenmountainmolds.
Using this tool was a piece of cake as I was amazed at how easy the original check valve, which was installed by Coleman back in February 1956, came out of the old 228E.

Excellent addittion to my "Bag of Tricks"

Let me start off by saying that I love Good Quality tools !
I despise cheap junk !
My tool box has it's fair share of The Good Stuff, it's my "Jewelry Box" .
And I'm both very happy and proud to add this Check Valve tool to my Collection.
I've used it 3 times so far and I must say that it is an Absolute Joy to use !
I'm about ready to put a sign outside the garage stating that I'll replace check valves for free just so I can use the tool again !
Not only does this tool remove and replace check valves with ease, it allows you to re-use your old check valve if by chance the old one just needs cleaning, because it does not damage the check valve !
Another Plus is the fact that it protects the "pump well " wall from damage as could occur when using an ill-fitting screwdriver or file or some other "make-shift" tool.
