Comet VIP+ 12v submersible pump - the pump that performs

Bought the first one to try and loved it so much I bought another few weeks later. Will be buying a few more for sure. I wired one with a switch like the ones you find on lampshades and crocodile clips to connect to battery. This one is used to draw water out of my drums into a tank when I need to top up. The other one is connected to a battery terminals and the actuated tap. Simple set up using three block wire connectors so that when the tap is switched on it power the pump. Water pipe is the clear transparent food grade type. At first I wasn't sure if this pump was as good as the more expensive ones you get in camping shops. Once the water start flowing all my doubts disappeared. 20 litres is a lot of water and it just pumps and pumps. The whirring noise I can hear is so quiet I had to put my ears to the tank to actually hear the reassuring sound. Plus the pump is so small and lightweight I thought I may need to weigh it down but when I inserted it through the neck of my water tank it simply settled down because of the attached pipe and wire. So no problem on that front. In summary I love this pump and at what I believe to be an extremely reasonable price compared to other well known brands and doing the same work and performing the same way I was surprised not to have discovered it before. Replacement for caravan water pump

The Whale water pump in the caravan failed after only one year. The "official" replacement is at least twice the price of this unit, which has a higher flow rate and can be fitted as a direct replacement. Works well and great value.Read full review

Replacement Caravan Water Pump

I bought this pump as a spare caravan water pump to have alongside my new Whale pump. Having replace the 20 year old Crystal pump that outlasted 2 Truma pumps that came with a succession of new caravans we bought over the years. Having fitted the Comet pump (using a couple of small stainless steel jubilee clips in place of the non reusable pipe clamps fitted to the original) to my old Truma Ultraflow tube and connector it works fine and pumps at a rate comparable to my new Whale device.Read full review
