Very much worth the money
The board seems durable and it has a nice sound, the pieces are well shaped and the writing on them is easy to read, and the box is nice and compact. The two halves of the box for the pieces can also be used as komadai.
The gap between the two halves of the board aren't quite even, so there's a slight height variance, but besides that, it doesn't have any noticeable flaws.Read full review...

Solid mid-range wooden shogi set.
This is a basic mid-range wooden shogi set. Decent cloth-backed folding wooden board, printed wooden pieces with a glossy finish (Ryouko style with black ink on both sides), and a wide, shallow piece box designed for use as the piece table for each player, like the Kumon beginner's set.
Well packaged, it would make a suitable gift for a youngster showing promise at shogi, and a step up from the low-end Nintendo plastic or wooden pieces and hinged folding board. Serious players would likely prefer a better board, carved pieces, and nicer piece tables.Read full review...
