Concise basic account of some main events in the life of Crazy Horse

Larry McMurtry is an accomplished author with bestsellers under his belt. Crazy Horse is well written, chronological in the main, in story-telling style. However, there is nothing new here, nothing that is not to be found in lots of other books on the same subject. It includes several minor errors which indicates copying a previous author's mistake instead of actually examining the available the evidence yourself: such as 'Touch The Clouds was seven feet tall' - looking at his photograph or checking what people who knew him said of him would have shown Mr McMurtry he was six feet four inches. Also, some statements are not validated by source references, which is always annoying. Overall this is a good book based on fact , around 270 words per page on 127 pages so really a 'short' book, well worth reading and owning.Read full review...
