Not has good as the original creosote but it is the next best thing , This is my second lot in which i do most of my fences I.E front and side fence or one of.
It has a more exceptable smell then creosote and more easy to apply ,
The last application lasted about three years before needing too be done again.Read full review

Lovely colour and easy to apply.

This is my first experience using Creoseal light. Simply the best wood protection you can get.
Bought this for our new shed, and it's hands down the best protection for any wooden construction.
I've tried Ronseal, Cuprinol and Sadolin in the past but all these applications failed because they are water based and have a very limited life in terms of protection.
The last shed we had was treated with a variety of these products, and none of them gave adequate coverage and needed repainting after six months because the finish was chipping away and flaking.
I found this to be a very expensive and time consuming way of trying to waterproof my shed.
Then I found out about Creoseal, a creosote substitute that is oil based. Applied with a fence brush, you can actually see it penetrate and soak into the wood.
The down side is that it does leave a strong, lasting smell like the original creosote, but the benefits of having proper wood protection against the elements far outweigh the odour.
Thoroughly recommend this product and will purchase more in future for fence coverage.

Cant go wrong with this stuff. Leaves a really nice finish like proper creosote did. Water runs right off it almost straight away. What ever it touches it will stain though so be careful when spraying! 20l is quite heavy and awkward to pour but far from impossible if you get the angle right. Read full review

I used to use the water based wood preservative but that really was a waste of time - it lasts approx. 5 minutes then you have to re-do. Not so with this! Because it's oil/spirit based, it soaks into the wood so will last for a long time. Well worth getting hold of!Read full review
