Absolutely Amazing!

People talk about what's "real" and "illusion." This is a mark of a great magician! Criss Angel is able to blur the line so well that the viewer is left to wonder what is real and what is show.
<br>No matter what he does, he is able to put on quite a show. This DVD is highly recommended if you love, or even like, magic. He takes the old stunts and brings them to life in a modern way; but, not only that, he creates original illusions that will entertain everyone!

However, he does not content himself with just performing illusions, he performs dangerous escapes. He is often compared to Houdini; but, unlike Houdini, he pushes the danger level to the max. Being 'keel-hauled' (drug behind a boat)Criss attempts to escape from a straight-jacket; With Rob Zombie's help, he is buried alive & must try to dig himself out; and, putting a new twist on the old Houdini trick, he is suspended 75-80 feet in the air, under water, handcuffed, and he must connect the safety harnass before the barrel is released in under 2 minutes! Does he survive? You bet he does, but the fun part is seeing HOW he accomplished the feats.

MindFreak - Criss Angel Named His Show Very Well...

Criss Angel IS a MindFreak! This guy is awesome! I have seen a lot of good magic acts, but Criss Angel takes everything to the next level...

Take some of the greatest tricks, stunts and illusions ever performed on stage or film, then move them out on the streets of Las Vegas surrounded by impromptu spectators. Criss Angel removes all the possibilities for technological trickery, then MINDFREAKS all who watch when he performs the totally impossible.

Criss Angel develops a strong intimacy with television viewers, while explaining how he has taken the old classics of magic and brought them up to date. He pays homage to the great masters, while at the same time outdoing them! He also takes difficult non-magic stunts and throws his magical twists into them to make some quite astounding illusions. He has single-handedly brought about a renewed interest in the art of magic by making everything he does completely fresh and different and AWESOME!

I personally think that he also uses his hypnotic powers to mesmerize all the female viewers to fall madly in love with him. I know I have, and I've noticed that any other female that happens by when I am watching MindFreak will stop and not leave until it is over. He doesn't seem to have as powerful of an effect on the men around here, but the magic-lovers are still fascinated by him.

I bought this DVD set for an interesting reason. I recorded all these episodes to VHS while watching them on A&E. I own a VHS/DVD burner, and have lately been trying to convert a lot of my old tapes to DVD. I have had some issues with the quality of my older tapes, but I have still been able to copy them. For some reason, my MindFreak tapes (there are 2, and not very old) will not properly dub to the DVD burner, although they play fine when just watching the VHS. I have NEVER had this problem with anything else I taped from TV, so what is up with that? Just another MINDFREAK??Read full review...

Relive The Magic Time and Time Again!

I first saw Criss Angel on an A&E commercial and thought to myself, "What the heck?" Then one evening of television reruns, I channel surfed right into the Mindfreak's lair! I was not only entertained, I was absolutely flabbergasted at this man's incredible talent. He has a magnetism that words cannot describe! His talent is immense and his performance presence unmatched!

I purchased the Mindfreak Complete Season One on DVD the moment it was available! The DVD includes all 15 episodes from the first season of Mindfreak from A&E in addition to special behind-the-scenes features and interactive magic tricks that will definitely freak your mind! Criss even walks you through how to create your own illusions! Watch Criss levetate passersby on the streets of Vegas. Criss Angel's Mindfreak The Complete First Season

My whole family loves this series. My kids are especially crazy about it. They even began buying their own magic tricks and kits. This is the first season of Mindfreak where the Mindfreak himself, aka Criss Angel, introduces his illusions and magic, not on a stage, but out in public as he walks the busy streets of Las Vegas. The stunts and illusions will blow your mind and leave you guessing forever as well as second guessing reality as we know it. Criss Angel demonstrates how the mind, body, and soul can come together to accomplish anything. Rewind it, play it in slow motion and you're still awe struck and asking "how'd he do that?" This is a great show and I highly recommend it for the entertainment value. Best magician bar none!!! Some episodes may be unsuitable for very young children depending on their sensitivity, or maturity level for the older children, and if concerned you may want to view it for yourself first. The only negative I have to say about it is I wish it was longer but the second season is out and makes up for that. The third season has just finished up taping as well and should be making its appearance soon. If you like the first season you'll love the second. I caution you though this show is very addictive and will leave you forever scratching your head.Read full review...

World's Greatest Magician

The show is the greatest. I record every episode new and repeats when I am at work. The DVD collection itself is alright. Not really much new that you haven't seen on A&E. Would have been nice if there were a couple extra unseen tricks. The interactive illusion was mind boggling at first until you do it a second time and you can kind of see how the trick was done. Criss Angel Mindfreak

Best thing about having the dvd is that you can avoid all the tv commercial. But i most say that Angel is kind of boring (in my opinion) after a wile. He is to much a show man for a good magician and he gets to clowny sometimes, i mean, tricks are all just to prepared and talked about during the movie and makes you lose some interest. I also believe he heres to much makeup, but i most say he is a got guy, you can really tell he works out very hard. However, if its magic you are looking for, i think that blaine is much more authentic for that matter. This is Criss Angel at his best so far. You would be crazy to say that Criss Angel is just an average "illusionist". He mezmorizes you with his talen and is an excellent performer. This DVD not only give you the episodes of the first season of "MindFreak", but has some cool extras. I won't tell you what they are, buy the DVD and see for yourself. I love his topics that he talks about and how he ends with his final illusion. He says alot of things that really relate to life itself and how they could be taken as words of inspiration.
