After trying some better known brands and finding them wanting I decided to select a more expensive one and try, the Cusineart is larger and far less plastic, it has a dependable latch and the hinge is above the level of the cooking plates this allows the plates to close level onto the food and latch securely. Possibly a little expensive if only occasionally used for toasties, however good, but the grill plates and built in grease trap which saves putting a baking tray or tissue down to avoid the pool of grease found with most of the alternatives.
