Light, powerful and great finish

I struggled for ages with an old, blunt, corded hedge cutter that took ages to hack its way along the modest length of hedge in our new house.
I decided that life was too short to put up with poor tools and I should put the DeWalt batteries I already had to good use.
The DCM 563 is easy to use, encourages safe, 2 handed use.
It's a good length of blade, light enough to hold at the height and angles that I want and cuts really cleanly.
My 2nd cut was about 3 weeks after the 1st of the year and was particularly impressive on the new, soft shoots. I'm going to be able to use it more frequently because the cordless operation makes the job so quick.
Overall, not the cheapest but possibly the best. Plus - the hedge looks professionally cut.Read full review

Design needs more attention

Cuts fine , primary trigger very awkward to use causes blisters on finger after 10 minutes of use because of sharp edges, secondary trigger loop the bottom where it is attached to the body is also very sharp which tends to snag on the hedge and make the cutting awkward.Read full review

Not cheap but clearly well made.

My first Dewalt kit. Hedge cutter suprisingly heavy with battery attached but does the job
well enough. Much safer and quicker than my old 2 stroke cutter. I chose this brand to give
me a way into their 18v cordless range of tools. Overall quite happy.

Impressive hedge cutter.

Quality Tool

I have a range of DeWalt tools which all use the same 18v XR batteries. It made sense then to buy this hedge trimmer. I have not been disappointed.
It rips through all my hedges making it very easy to complete a professional looking job. It is light to hold and well balanced.
I only have the mid sized batteries but they last long enough to get a lot done and, of course, they re-charge very quickly. Having a couple of batteries I can alternate between them and I can work all day if need be. I can recommend this hedge trimmer without reservation.Read full review

We Walt hedge trimmer

Used today for first time, have two 3.0 A.H batteries, cut my large hedge very well, wish I had gone cordless years ago, cut time in half as not having to move extension all the time. Worked perfect better than my corded trimmer. Very good quality and not to heavy, no more that corded one. Battery lasted about 90 mins continues use, changed batter when down to one bar, as it was cup of tea time. Battery charged very fast but did not need it. Second battery finished the hedge.
