DS18 PROX44BM 4 inch Loudspeaker - Black

Loud as hell!!

Well...I bought these little speakers to fill a void in my system....I have a 99 isuzu rodeo with a 600 watt at 2 ohm subwoofer amp powering an 800 watt power acoustic 12 sub in a a-line vented box....2 6 1/2 pyramid midbass woofers I'll n the rear doors and a component speaker system made by sound stream consisting of 2 6 1/2 woofers and 2 compression tweeters capable of 100 watts per side with external crossovers....and those are powered by a Autotek amp at around 50-60 watts per speaker at 4 ohms....the problem was when listening to certain music( rage against the machine, and certain tool albums ) I could'nt hear much of the vocals or it was drowned out by other instruments.....so i figured i was lacking certain midrange frequencies....and the rodeo had 4" speakers that came stock in the roof just in front of the rear liftgate.....so I found these little 4 " powerhouse speakers online and ordered them....they came a day early and were really affordably priced....also they handle 100 watts rms a peice!!!! Impressive!! I haven't found any other speaker in this size and or power rating....also every other speaker in this category in a coaxial design...and I was looking g for just a woofer..( can't stand coaxials)....I wired them up in a parallel circuit with my back door woofers so the amp sees a 2 ohm load....and man!!! Let me tell u!! These babies are really loud and clear!! I can hear the vocals that I was previously lacking....it filled the void and I would definetly recommend them to anybody looking for a budget priced great little speaker....I am completely satisfied and will probably replace my pyramid 6 1/2 speakers with some ds 18 6 1/2 " mid woofers cause I am sold on the quality and sound of the 4's!!!Read full review
