Daiwa US40XD-CP Underspin Reel

I bought this reel to use on my ice fishing pole and it performs very well. My brother had bought a couple of these reels last summer and really liked the way they performed so I decided to try one myself. I also have the US80XD I bought last year and I really liked it also. waste of money

first time out bream fishing this year disappointing due to these reels,they don't cast well after you catch a fish the line packs and follow up cast are short -till you pull out some line! to remedy this I changed to 8 pound (same problem different day) .never had this problem with the old reels of a different brand.front drag knob sticking out front bad design!.guess where they are made.I've been a fan of Daiwa reels since the 80's when they came out with magforce reels I own 21 various models and love them but they dropped the ball on this. not worth the extra money over their competion.Read full review

it's time to go fishing

Easy to use in small spaces

I use this reel to fish small trout streams where there is a lot of brush and tight spaces to cast. It is great for easily doing short underhand casts in these areas, but still can cast longer distances when required. There are better and more expensive reels but Daiwa quality is still quite good in this inexpensive reel.Read full review
